I do struggle sometimes to understand why people have dogs!

ANY dog can attack - it just irritates me when some owners feel that their dog is somehow an exception.

i once owned a 12 yo Yorkshire terrier with no teeth. Now of course, the dog could attack you, but the whole experience was rather more amusing than painful....

My dad once found a boy throwing stones over the hedge at our dog. he asked him why he was doing that...he said 'To make him bark'. I think that's a fair example of the kind of unpleasant and stupid thing kids do to dogs.
sometimes dogs bite n situations like that.

most staffies i know are fat. very fat. and good family pets.

All Staffs I know are fantastic family pets. I'm sorry that people feel uncomfortable around him/them - especially if they then feel comfortable around jack russels/west highlands, or really most other breeds in all honesty.

The Kennel Club has to base their recommendations on something, after all.
