Model with flabby tummy shocks the world

According to the Daily Mail

How sad is that? That we are so used to the airbrushed perfection of models that a tiny pic of a normal woman causes such a fuss.

She is 5ft 11in and 12 1/2st and is considered too big to model plus sizes

I think she looks fab. I have a wee tummy just like hers and she has made me feel much better about it.

I remember someone on here genuinely asked Anna is she was in Sheffield . She's always been AnnafromSheffield to me since then

Tortington · 03/09/2009 14:25

why oh why would you be french and bot eat butter croissants and french bread

its got to be positively anti french to do anything else

in fact i have after many holidays, almost convinced myself to live there based on the croissants and pain au chocolat alone

they do have AMAZINGLY SHIT cakes though

so there sia balance to be struck

MilaMae · 03/09/2009 14:27

Personally I worry more about cholesterol levels and blood pressure far more than weight.

I know somebody with morbidly high cholesterol levels(inherited) who is stick thin. Her doctor is very concerned.

I'd be interested to see figures for cholesterol levels and blood pressure on Parisian women. The amount of coffee, cigarettes and high cholesterol food they eat would infer they must be sky high.

LaurieFairyCake · 03/09/2009 14:27

apart from millefeuille

and laduree macaroons

and opera cake

noddyholder · 03/09/2009 14:28

Tortington · 03/09/2009 14:29

SixtyFootDoll · 03/09/2009 14:29

I think she is beautiful
and was refreshing to see.

Geneva is incredibly French influenced and, yes, I do agree with Anna on this point. The women here are slimmer, better dressed, fitter and generally healthier.

I have never seen so many people jogging, cycling, swimming...

Almost every expat I have met here has said the same, they feel like MrBlobby when they arrive.

They also pay much more attention to details, accessories when dressing.

I find the food here to be much healthier. Less reliance on shite half-fat no-fat shite. More fresh fish, salad, rice. Good cheese, red wine, olive oil.

The French don't 'take' exercise much though do they?

MmeLindt · 03/09/2009 14:33

oooh, Laduree. I have to close my eyes when I walk past the shop.

On me hols I saw many many very thin women in France smoking a lot of fags. I did wonder if this was the secret of their svelteness rather than all the minceur products in the pharmacy.

MarshaBrady · 03/09/2009 14:35

First bf was French/English with very Parisian attitude. Was very very skinny, ate quite a lot but was definitely as concerned with any fatness as a girl. Didn't exercise much.

I hate to say it, but many do have quite a strong view on being overweight.

oneopinionatedmother · 03/09/2009 14:35

@lauriefairycake - surely BMI doesn't work for kids as they are differently proportioned (more head to body weight)

NoahFence · 03/09/2009 14:36

why does ocnversations about weight always end up talking abotu paris?
home of hammer pants iirc

MarshaBrady · 03/09/2009 14:37

Maybe cos Anna comes on and says everyone else is fat. And chats about the French ensue

But their is some BAD fashion over there.

MarshaBrady · 03/09/2009 14:37

there

NoahFence · 03/09/2009 14:38

does anna live in PARIS?

well i never
tbh though what hapens in paris is a pretty irrlevant to ALl of us

said · 03/09/2009 14:38

I thought she lived in Sheffield

slyandgobbo · 03/09/2009 14:39

hammer pants? French pharmacies do make me laugh - all those products aimed at "mincing" and what are these "heavy legs" the french seem to suffer from?

NoahFence · 03/09/2009 14:39

it is unhealthy to be fat
thats a given

Paris Schmaris

Nancy66 · 03/09/2009 14:42

All the French women i know (all three of them) smoke very heavily, drink lots of black coffee and red wine, eat tons of meat and don't exercise - but they are thin.

My french friend that lives in London lives off black coffee and fags and then eats one meal in the evening - it's a good sized meal but, still, she only really eats once a day.

Thats why I'm overweight then... I dont smoke or drink or eat meat, and I do exercise

slyandgobbo · 03/09/2009 14:46

I knew it, their secret is fags. It would be hard to be a thin vegetarian in France. One would ahve to live on cheese and keep asking fro lardons to be taken out fo the salad.

TheChilliMooseisyourfriend · 03/09/2009 14:47

Cor I wish I had that model's flabby bits instead of mine! BounsoirAnna, I dread to think what you would call me if you call her fat.
