But her car is a hatchback! Those covers only have two clips on the car seats. The one in our Renault scenic is easy to get off, but i'm not sure about hers.

Regardless of the type of car she had (and yes, I think it was in fact a Vauxhall Astra hatchback), the point is she would have escaped if she could have. Surely no one is honestly questioning her desire to escape?!
