Yep - I agree with most of you. They look like monkeys. Cute monkeys - but monkeys all the same.

Do a lot of them seem to have yellow stuff in their eyes, is that a French thing? Seem to remember hearing about some time/ place where they sqirt something in newborns' eyes.

Meh. I do not like newborns.

Awww! Just makes me really want one. I can see that they look like squished greasy monkeys but they do look beautiful to me too.

they all look like little boxers who've gone 10 rounds! not surprising. they are beautifully ugly imo. I didn't get to see ds until he was over 3 hours old and he didn't look too scrunched as far as I can remember (hormones and memory loss clearly prevent memory of ugly monkey-baby progeny!)

i think newborns look like little old men for their few hours (even the girls!)

blimey, I laughed out loud and ruined my dh's Torchwood viewing - and- on turning the screen around he saw what was so funny!

But I supppose it shows the reality of some babies appearance after birth - not all come out looking like Anne Geddes Birthday cards.

(ps except for mine, minus the wings/snail shell/ pumpkin etc. now that would have been painful)

Both dd and ds were so cute when born (not that im biased ). Perfect skin and little fingers..toes..everything..

Did I mention I want more.....?!!

Mine were much more beautiful than those!

Mind you, my ds did elicit a comment from a nurse along the lines of "good job he's a boy with a face like that!"

Babies are weird looking. I think whether or not you think they look beautiful probably depends on whether seeing babies makes you think "ahh, I'd like another one of those" or "I am so glad I'm never having one of those again!"

I fall into the latter camp, but what a great series of photos.
