I can understand them being upset, disappointed, embarrassed, whatever but surely there are different ways to deal with this. Are they ashamed because the whole world now nows that daddy is a jaffa or is it because the child isn't the same colour as them.

My very white parents adopted me from 4 months old, back in the 70's when I was the only black kid in the whole school. They dealt with it, I dealt with it why can't these freaks deal with it?

Poor, poor child. Because of them, this child will grow up with an inferiority complex, have low ethnic-esteem and probably wish at times, he wasn't born.

I know lots of people in Belfast - they treat each other's children as their own - and none of the people I know would bat an eyelid at one of their friends having a mixed-race child.

That to me is paranoia. So what if people do stare, leave them to it. It seems sad that they seem so ashamed of their childrens' heritage and the way the parents have handled it, will only make things worse.

The fact that any money they recieve from taking the hospital to court will go into a trust for the children to soften the blow says it all really.

Before I dash off, in relation to the above: Sure there are black and mixed race drug dealers but I think it is a stereotype and the website above should know better than to propogate this steroe type.

Besides the article is about trainee lawyer who is a drug user and I am not aware that this is a particular problem amongst mixed race or black male lawyers.
