.Poor family.

NationalFlight · 02/06/2009 21:33

Poor things.

SlartyBartFast · 02/06/2009 21:34

this has really affected me

tiredemma · 02/06/2009 21:37

I cant recall any recent news story that has made me feel so sad such as this.

mollyroger · 02/06/2009 21:37

oh me too Slarty .

Ds got very upset watching it too. He almost died from menigitis when he was 4. He is a beautiful, strong 11-year-old now and I have to confess I can't stop hugging him tonight

Tidey · 02/06/2009 21:49

So incredibly sad. They had gone through more agony than anyone ever should. I hope they're at peace now

frankbestfriend · 02/06/2009 22:07

Can't get this out of my head tonight

MrsBonJovi · 02/06/2009 22:13

I have been thinking about this since yesterday too. I am a single mum with one DS. I know I could not carry on without him if anything ever happened to him.

Buktus so sorry to hear that you knew the family. It may help to talk it over with someone or look online to see how you can help your children

So so sad.
Poor little boy, to have suffered so much in his short life, and so sad for his parents who clearly loved him so much.

PresidentTaylor · 02/06/2009 22:14

Read the updated version of this on the BBC website today (had not seen this, the previous version and missed the news yesterday). Was weeping reading it. Those poor parents and little boy. Is totally understandable that they did this if this was their only child. The rucksack of toys bit got me too. Am crying again thinking about it.

PresidentTaylor · 02/06/2009 22:16

It's on the news now

ellingwoman · 02/06/2009 22:17

So sad

Noonki · 02/06/2009 22:18

This has made me cry all day. My ex's dad jumped at beachy head and so I know how far reaching this will be for all that knew the family.

Sidge · 02/06/2009 22:23

This is so terribly sad

The intensity of their loss must have been just too much to bear. How very tragic to feel such grief that they didn't want to live without him

NationalFlight · 03/06/2009 07:37

Ds heard it on the radio and was quite scared - he's just 6 and said 'Thats not real is it mummy? I wouldn't fit in a rucksack' so I just said 'No darling, you wouldn't ' I didn't know how to explain.

BottySpottom · 03/06/2009 11:42

Poor poor family. I would have done the same.

My Granny lost her first child before she went on to have my Dad. How she kept going, I shall never know.

Peachy · 03/06/2009 11:44

My Uncle ended up in psychiatric care after losing his child (he does have a younger one but still needs outpatient care 30 years on)

A devastating thing, to lose a child

edam · 03/06/2009 11:46

One of their friends was interviewed on the news and said the little boy had just got a new wheelchair, which meant he could be naughty like other children and scoot away from his parents across the fields, ignoring calls of 'come back here!'. Made tears come into my eyes. That he was having fun and was able to be naughty for the first time, and then got struck down by this horrible illness.

zzzmumzee · 03/06/2009 23:18

Every time I hear about this I really cannot stop crying. So sad....

PaulaAtMummyKnowsBest · 04/06/2009 16:42

how tragic.

My dd was seriously ill and in HDU when she was 4 and it was the worse time in my life. She got better thankfully but the memories of her being so ill will be with me forever.

I can't imagine what it's like to actually lose a child.

2shoes · 04/06/2009 17:35

edam omg that is so tragic

psychomum5 · 04/06/2009 17:40
