Another family devastated

This is so so sad.

Just read that the parents took the boy home to die peacefully. He had apparently been dead for a few days before they jumped.

Can't understand how they would have had his body for this long if it was known that he was so ill and dying. Surely they would have had palliative care at home/follow up from hospital?

it says he died on Friday evening, and coastguards first spotted the bodies on Sunday, so it wasn't necessarily very long between times. It's so awful and yet so understandable. I wish I could hug my little ones right now.

What a tragic story

Lenin if I had of seen this yesterday I would've thought the exact same thing, I thik it only natural to have a knee jerk reaction before reality kicks in, especially when there are so few details.

I hope wherever they are now they are together, I cannot begin to imagine how bad their pain must've been after losing their LO

nickytwotimes · 02/06/2009 13:29

God, that is the saddest thing I have seen.
I must admit I jumped to conclusions like most people.
Poor, poor family.
My Dad lost one of his wee boys from his first marraige. The grief was with him the rest of his life. I cannot begin to imagine what it is like.

FabulousBakerGirl · 02/06/2009 13:45

I have just heard that the poor little boy died from meningitis and it seems his parents couldn't live without him.

I am sure I am not the only one who wants to just go to school right now and cuddle my children.

RIP.

Theres an article www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1190061/Unbearable-grief-Suicide-couple-leap-Beachy-Head-bod y-son-5-rucksack.html
I cried reading this.

pollypentapeptide · 02/06/2009 17:47

I also jumped to conclusions when this story first broke. Now I am trying to take some consolation from that fact that this little boy actually had parents who loved him dearly

Bless them all x

edam · 02/06/2009 17:52

What a terrible tragedy.

SomeGuy · 02/06/2009 18:02

Interesting that people jumped to conclusions re parents not being able to cope with his care needs, when it seems that it was actually the reverse.

2shoes · 02/06/2009 18:04

how terribly sad,

MrsBonJovi · 02/06/2009 18:28

Its so sad. I was crying whilst watching this on the news today

mollyroger · 02/06/2009 19:22

oh dear. they showed home video of the family just now on news. What a lovely little family they seemed to be, despite their past tragedy. Incredibly sad.

MaggieBee · 02/06/2009 19:23

The boy was already dead. Which changes this story. Ifeel so awful for the parents. I almost understand completely how they just didn't have the optimism and the strenght and the patience to wait until life became better again. They're out of their pain now.

stillenacht · 02/06/2009 19:25

so so awful poor family

I saw the video footage on the news this evening as well. It was very touching and equally sad. They looked so very dedicated to their little boy. A very tragic piece of news.

buktus · 02/06/2009 19:44

I really had to stop myself from reading threads on this yeasterday as i knew there would be negative comments beforeeverybody found out the truth, he was a sweet little boy who couldnt have been more loved, he had an amazing mum and dad who did everything and more , he made school a happier place especially for one of my children i cant believe we are never going to see him whizzing about in his chair again. RIP Sam x

Peachy · 02/06/2009 19:52

Bultus [hugs]

so terribly sad. Rest in peace, poor devoted family

bigstripeytiger · 02/06/2009 20:14

So sad. Poor family.

frankbestfriend · 02/06/2009 21:07

I am a parent of an only child and I almost wholly understand why they felt they had to do this
I hope their families can take some small comfort from the happiness they created for their little boy whilst he was alive.

Very rarely have I been so moved by a news story.

Just tragic
