story here

This should probably be in sleb twaddle, but I think it's actually interesting as I can't think of any other celeb who has done this (and it been publicised anyway).

Sorry for the DM link too!

Noooooooo! Travolta? Will Smith? Zac? Seriously? Any more?

It's very sad though, what a waste of your life to spend it in a sham marriage.

Biscuits4Cheese · 30/04/2009 19:34

Oh my goodnes, how can you claim to know that these men are gay? Oh, and of course Jada Pinkett is a lesbian - she has muscles and everything!!
Maybe they are gay, but probably they're not.
And while homosexuality is not something to be hidden away, to claim that these people are liars, that their relationships are shams etc is nasty.
Oh, and that link to JT kissing a man is ridiculous. How narrow minded.

BunnyLebowski · 30/04/2009 19:47

I'm not being at all judgemental Biscuits! And I'm in no way narrow minded.

These claims are widely acknowledged within the film/theatre industry. Whilst I by no means believe all the gossip I read I think you would be very naive to think that everything is exactly as it seems within these "perfect" Hollywood marriages.

And the studios covering up gay actors is not a theory - it's a fact!

This is a light hearted thread not meant to cause offence by the way so Jada if you're reading this I apologise profusely

BeehiveBaby · 30/04/2009 20:10

My friend in the entertainment industry swears blind that Cherly Cole is Ashley's 'beard' too. (Is that the right word?!)

BunnyLebowski · 30/04/2009 20:26

Mmmm Beehive have heard that one too....apparently the kiss and tell a few years back with that girl was staged to reinforce his hetrosexual image. And there was a very incriminating story about Ashley, another man and a mobile phone which did the rounds a few years back.

And yep "beard" is the correct terminology.

Oh just remembered another one....Hugh Jackman.

Judy1234 · 30/04/2009 20:40

They are genetically hers, her eggs, frozen when she was younger. Wonder if they'd tried implanting them in her a few times and failed.

fizzpops · 30/04/2009 20:56

Um, if Will Smith and Jada are both gay then are their children really theirs? Not that it matters but is it one of those things that they really wanted kids so an added bit of 'convenience'?

Who could live with that kind of secret? The pressure must be ridiculous....

I am very naive, I just believe what I am told by the media machine

PortAndLemon · 30/04/2009 21:09

Wasn't Hugh Jackman a successful stage musical actor at the time of his marriage? Because if you are going to tell me that you can't have a successful career in musical theatre if you are known to be gay then I am going to look at you like this -->

surrofab · 30/04/2009 21:23

Fantastic stuff and so great that SJP and partner have been upfront and honest about using a surrogate!
The story has already started to bring more surrogates forward!
BRILL!

wow - gives a whole new meaning to Happy Thanksgiving

QOD · 30/04/2009 22:00

i think its great, really exciting to see surrogacy coming out of the closet.
As mentioned, Kelsey Grammar, Dennis QUaid, the lady who plays ROz on Frasier and a top england footy player all havebabies via surrogates.
As SJP is older her womb and hormones could be not good enough to support a pregnancy.
I can pretty much swear no one would do this to save their body from stretchmarks.
Everyone says wow surrogates are amazing, and they are! but us intended mothers or recipient mothers go through unimaginable hell during our years of infertility and then the unbelievable stress of someone carrying your dream whilst you wonder if they will go thru with it.

Good on them I say I hope it all goes well.

Can someone knowledgeable explain why your age would make a difference to needing a surrogate - is it the increased risk of miscarriage that a few have mentioned?

Jaypickle · 01/05/2009 16:25

You need to produce a lot of hormones for a pregnancy to continue, its not just a matter of the age of the eggs. Its possible she has falling hormone levels. Its also possible that implantation would never happen for much the same reasons.
