SJP having twins via a surrogate mother - is she the first high profile celeb to do this?

This should probably be in sleb twaddle, but I think it's actually interesting as I can't think of any other celeb who has done this (and it been publicised anyway).

It says in the article that they have been trying unsuccessfully for years to add to their family.

Sara's 44. It's entirely possible she can no longer use her own eggs due to her age.

I heard this on GMTV a decent programme this morning. Apparantly, according to Penny Smith the presenter, they've been trying since they had James.

Of course none of us has a clue what's true and they may be awful, but they come across pretty welll.

Expat - I realise that but wouldn't IVF (using donor eggs) be possible though in that case? I thought that surrogacy was generally used if the woman's uterus wasn't viable (or due to factors such as NKCs)?

Not that I care either way, was just musing

Maybe she had complications with her first delivery that prevent her from carrying a baby? Or she could have had a string of miscarriages and wasn't willing to go through that again?

Impossible to know the circumstances really, whilst they are being open I doubt they want to be THAT open!

It's widely acknowledged in celebrity circles especially broadway that Matthew Broderick is gay and that his and SJP's marriage is nothing more than a PR friendly convenience.

The rumour mill has been swirling lately with stories of divorce and then this story comes out about the band-aids babies

It's a damn shame that leading male actors are still hiding in the closet like Rock Hudson had to back in the 50's. John Travolta, Will Smith etc.

Oh yeah it's a poorly kept Hollywood secret that Will Smith is gay. His "wife" Jada is a lesbian so it's a cover for them both.

John Travolta has repeatedly been very indiscreet with his dalliances. Allegedly his M.O. is that he "entertains" them onhis private jet....see here

But why in this day and age would anyone get married to cover up being gay?? It's no big deal at all anymore.

This seems to be a Hollywood thing though. Actors here don't feel pressured to do that here do they? It's mad!

The Hollywood studios KNOW that bible belt America isn't going to go and watch an Action Move with a gay leading man! Simple as that!

So the studio pairs the young gay star up with a pretty young actress and the faux-mance begins! Benefits both their careers and the stoopid americans lap it up!

Case in point Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens.

Disney are one of the worst for doing this as they have their family reputation to uphold!

Am VERY at Travolta and Will Smith, not because I have any homophobic tendencies but just because I don't follow Hollywood gossip and had no idea! Wow! But are we really sure about SJP and husband because if not, its a pretty weird thing to bandy about! I just assumed she was getting on a bit and they had trouble conceiving.
