So much for the BNP trying to rebrand themselves as not racist....

"British National Party (BNP) chairman Nick Griffin has defended a party leaflet which says that black Britons and Asian Britons "do not exist".

The BNP's "Language and Concepts Discipline Manual" says the term used should be "racial foreigners". "

More on BBC news site here

I'm sure no-one will be surprised about this, but it's useful to have stuff like this out in the open. Wankers.

Am intrigued to see how they will repatriate one eighth of dh.

GothAnneGeddes · 23/04/2009 15:48

Or how they'll repatriate one half of dd.

And co-sign to everyone else who has pointed out how bizarre that white foreigners are never mentioned.

We laugh at Nick Griffin here, but it is astonishing how many people think he has a point. There is no rationality behind the vile statements of people like Griffin, but that does not make them any less, perhaps makes them even more, powerful. Griffin and his ilk play on people's insecurities, fears and resentments and have increasing potential to do serious damage to our civil society. Griffin may be indeterminate in his definition of 'foreign residents' but what does that matter to the victims of racist assaults, or indeed the perpetrators of such attacks? The attackers just want someone to blame for their own misery or sense of inadequacy.
Personally I find Nick Griffin terrifying. The fact he has the potential to gain increasing political legitimacy, especially in terms of Europe is very worrying. He is the supposedly acceptable face of a sub-political constituency which is connected with the kind of jack-booted far right extremists that perpetrate violent crimes against people who they perceive as unacceptably different, whether black, jewish, asian, gay and so on. We can't stop him exercising his right to free speech, but we can vote against him. This is why it is so important to vote IMO - it's not just about voting parties into, but also keeping them out of, positions of power.

Exactly flossie- they are carrying out fund-raising events throughout the country in order to have money to field candidates. One such event was due to be held at our local village hall, thanks to a BNP member on the council (who incidentally also runs the local kid's club- hello, remind anyone of the Hitler Youth?). Luckily this event was scuppered at the last minute thanks to the efforts of a watch group. Permission was withdrawn for them to use the hall the day before the event was due to be held. These people are everywhere, presenting themselves on the sly to parish and town councils. Often they get in because middle of the road people can be a bit apathetic about politics.

They were in the market square in Helmsley the other week, which surprised me because I had not thought of wealthy rural Yorkshire as prime recruiting ground. (People round here tend to fly Yorkshire flags rather than St George's cross.)

Hmm thinking that if our family can be extrapolated from this is how it would work (Obv I relaise Wales part of UK but jst as a guideline for national id):

Dh and I in Wales, 3 of our kids English as we are.

move to England under BNP type rule then

My Grandad Welsh, Nan English. move to a shed on Severn Bridge. Dh half Somerset, but unknown other half (Dad abandoned, suspected black GI for a father)); move to shed on boat in Atlantic (as Dh is fairly dark skinned pointing him in general direction of Africa / Carribean / anywhere slaves were stolen from would seem most accurate)........

That'd work then PMSL

BNP = fuckwits, why is anyone surprised?

Peachy · 23/04/2009 16:18

People go to Blackburn for days out?

I suppose there might be people who move to rural Yorkshire to get away from all those scary ethnic minorities, sort of English equivalent of US survivalists who go and live in cabins in the woods.

Oh yes kathy, to view the racial foreigners dontcha know

becstarlitsea · 23/04/2009 16:30

It's so scarey that people can listen to Griffin and think he 'talks a lot of sense' but I know they do, I've heard people say it. 'Yeah, but when you listen, it makes a lot of sense, dunnit?'

Unbelievable that human beings can have so many examples of genocide in our history and then someone can come along and refer to 'racial foreigners' and have people nodding along as if the Holocaust, former Yugoslavia, Rwanda etc have nothing to teach us.

As a previous poster mentioned, we all came from Africa. All human DNA can be traced back to one woman this woman There's a suggestion she came from Ethiopia. Shall we all pop back together?

Kathyis6incheshigh · 23/04/2009 16:32

Ah you would go to Bradford for that Peachy - Yorkshire people would not want to go to Lancashire. (In fact if Griffin was to suggest repatriating Lancashire people from Yorkshire he might get some support. Maybe that was what they were doing in Helmsley.)

Stupid Southerner

jumpingbeans · 23/04/2009 16:36

I thought Bradford was in Yorkshire too

Kathyis6incheshigh · 23/04/2009 16:37

Bradford is in Yorkshire, it's Blackburn that's in Lancashire. Possibly I have confused things here

KingRolo- "The BNP have tried to present themselves as more mainstream in recent years but this document talks about how the BNP's "ultimate aim" is the "repatriation of the resident foreigners of the UK".

People need to know what the BNP really stand for and not get sidetracked by local issues."

Exactly. And the only democratic solution we have to combat these morons is to turn out at every single election and vote them into oblivion. They are as we speak attempting to field a candidate at every European seat in Britain. Just imagine what we could end up exporting if turnout is the usual 23%- they would only need to get a core 8% of their voters turning out to put a bunch of wankers into the EU to represent all of us...

VOTE VOTE VOTE!!!

tryingherbest · 14/05/2009 22:58

Well Kathy's right - they're 'Barking'

Barking's the place they have councillor!

NNP had a party political broadcast last night. I was shocked then OK as in a democracy everyone should have a voice whether or not we agree.

Personally I think the more publicty they get the more they'll be driven out anyhow.

Don't forget in Europe this type of party is actually mainstream and they're kind of jumping on the back of that.

I'm not worried - at least for the moment.

Moreover I'm mixed. If Asians don't exist then I'm only half here. Half a person. Half a legal entity.
funilly I feel pretty whole.

I pretty much ignore them.
