Chris Evans leaves baby asleep for four hours in car while in The Ivy.

Not sure what to think about this. It is in The Mail after all.

I have left my dd in a car seat while she was asleep in a communal hall way as I didn't want to wake her. I sat there with her though.

I suppose it is a bit judgey, mcjudgey but I am thinking that a 7 week old baby should really be at home not in a car seat outside the Ivy or any other drinking establishment for 4 hours.

Is it acceptable because this is a celeb and it is outside the Ivy and not the local Wetherspoons though?

If this was a parent from a council estate having a drink in the local there would be an outrage.

Just checked it, it seems that the baby was not alone, but being babysat by the driver who was also in the car.

I don't see anything wrong with that, the baby was not alone in the car.

You didn't mention though that there was a driver in the car the whole time.

I guess i'd have worried about length of time in carseat but its not like the baby was on its own.

How odd? And why? Its not as if they can't afford a babysitter, but like you say, its The Mail so could be a load of rubbish Am off to look at Mail online now!!

Well if there was a driver there who could have carried the baby in if it woke up that is fine

he was being looked after and it is his regular driver and long time employee - not some bloke driving a mini cab.

Presumably they don't have a nanny. can't see anything wrong at all.

Not really so different from people taking sleeping baby in car seat out to dinner of which i've seen many people do.

4 hours is quite a long time in a car seat, isn't it? Poor driver, mind. How fucking dull. 4 hours a long time in a car seat for an adult too...

Isn't it dangerous for babies to be left "sitting" in car seats for too long? I am sure I read that this is risky vis a vis SIDS?

Don't see the problem really, The driver would have got them if the baby was crying.

Sorry I wasn't trying to do it by stealth I would never have thought for one minute the baby was alone so just forgot to put it in, assumed it would be realised .

I just think its typical daily mail lazy journalism - its a land rover discovery or land rover range rover not a range rover discovery. Picky i know but when they get basic stuff like that wrong i just place little faith in the accuracy of the whole article.

I wouldn't be surprised if like the first time most of us left our babies the mum was in and out within about 45 mins.

Well, it was only for 3-4 hours, not overnight - same as a long car trip. I don't see a problem tbh.
