Sad
OP posts:
Portofino · 23/03/2009 23:03

Me too, 2 shoes. My mum could apparently be a right mare, and nicked at least one of my auntie's bfs - she never made the papers though. But they (the family) all loved her and still miss her even after all this time. For everyone who wants to make unpleasant comments, please remember that Jade still has a family who are going through a very bad time at the mo, and will be for the forseeable. You'd be sympathising if it was the dd of another MNetter wouldn't you?

beanieb · 23/03/2009 23:04

I am not telling people what to say I am saying go ahead and say it, but why do it in this thread considering the discussions that have taken place on this forum and that you were a part of earlier?

It makes no sense and it makes those posters who continue to do it look like they are just determined to stomp all over any thread where people just want to be left to discuss how they sympathise with the family of Jade Goody.

I feel like I am being tiresome, all these silly conversations an attempts by people to ride roughshod over people's sympathies are making me feel tiresome.

Are you getting a kick out of it because I certainly am not.

Obviously I have got up your nose. Sorry about that.

2shoes · 23/03/2009 23:05

dittany do you know I am suprised that people still seem to think people hate Jade.
I know I don't, I never watched BB, but read about her, she seemd ok.
But I do hate all the media crap that has gone one.

Haribosmummy · 23/03/2009 23:05

I agree, Dittany.

There are plenty of other places to have this argument.

THIS is not the time or the place.

How would ANY of you feel if this was YOUR daughter or granddaughter?

Just for a day or two, this thread should be left for those wishing to leave positive messages.

Gunnerbean · 23/03/2009 23:06

"You'd be sympathising if it was the dd of another MNetter wouldn't you?"

That is, and always has been, my point exactly Portofino.

How many times have we heard trotted out the line "why do you care about Jade Goody, did you know here personally?" yet how may times do people here quite readily express sympathy and empathy for total strangers?

2shoes · 23/03/2009 23:07

beanieb but of course people sympathise with her and her family(well can I leave Jack out) to loose a daughter or a mum is horrid beyond belief.
but the whole thing has been so "in your face"

Haribosmummy · 23/03/2009 23:07

2shoes - all the worse if you don't even have strong feelings.

Please think about how you would feel if this were someone you loved.

Portofino · 23/03/2009 23:07

beanie, (re. giving 2shoes a hard time) surely being in the position where you lost your mother as a child is relevant here? Isn't the reason that people empathise so much the fact that Jade died leaving 2 young kids?

2shoes · 23/03/2009 23:09

Haribosmummy i think you have just proved you don't read the posts, you just post.

beanieb · 23/03/2009 23:10

"But I do hate all the media crap that has gone one." oh but 2 shoes, this thread is the thread you seek

Portofino, I am not sure I understand your question. I'm not giving 2shoes a hard time, I am just suggesting she take the discussion she wants to have to a more relevant thread.

What part did I read incorrectly?

Please.. advise me... I'd just LOVE to know!

2shoes · 23/03/2009 23:12

beanieb I an going to bed now. so you can take your prefects badge off.

beanieb · 23/03/2009 23:12

And you know what - I am rather slow but I just worked out that if I stop arguing the toss then that's one less person arguing and perhaps if we all did it then this thread would eventually make it back on topic. Phew!

I'm off.

that post dear, you posted that after I had talked about my loss.

2shoes · 23/03/2009 23:13

beanieb snap, sleep well

beanieb · 23/03/2009 23:13

You have a delightfully simple set of put-downs 2shoes. Bravo!

Gunnerbean · 23/03/2009 23:14

There are several people here who are being totally disingenuous and transparent.

They protest that they have no reason to dislike Jade Goody yet contiue to post negative comments about her on a thread which they must have known was for people to express condolences following her death.

A deep dislike of Jade Goody is, and must be, their only motivation for continuing to post on this thread.

I find it all very unpleasant and not the behaviour of a decent person at all.

I applaud your efforts to try to herd these people onto threads where they will meet like-minded insensitive morons people BeanieB but I fear you are pissing in the wind.

poor woman, poor family.

Young mothers dying is always so sad. Am going off now to give DS who is asleep in my bed an extra cuddle.

Portofino · 23/03/2009 23:16

Surely there is a lot of media crap though. Wasn't everyone complaining the other day about the premature "memorial" edition of OK magazine? I hate it too. Doesn't take anything away from my sympathy for Jade and her family.

Gunnerbean · 23/03/2009 23:17

Too true Haribosmummy.
