how exciting!

DH and I were staying in his boss's condo a few weeks ago and we generally have a 'no TV' rule whilst on our hols. His boss arrived one night to go skiing the next day and asked us what we thought of the Pope's death. 'The Pope is dead? How exciting!' I exclaimed, really meaning that I thought the whole white smoke/black smoke was exciting.............. DH and boss not exactly amused

Puff, I thought the end of the world/antichrist or whatever was supposed to come after the next pope. I think it was Nostradamus who said that there were 2 more popes until the end of the world, and someone worked out that JP was 2nd to last.
Will look up when I get home. Nice cheery thought.

Found it! It was St. Malachy a thousand years ago. He predicted that Ratzinger would be followed by the last Pope - "Peter the Roman" and then Rome would be destroyed.
