I have no sympathy for him. He chose to stay in Brazil and stick his two fingers up at the authorities here. If he had served his time in the UK he would have been released years ago.
He also chose to make a record with the Sex Pistols back in the day in which he makes jokes about murderers and criminals - the record had a mock up picture of him coshing a train driver and was called 'No-one is innocent' - I bet the widow of the driver he killed really appreciated that little gesture.
And then he chose to return to the UK, knowing he would be banged up. So he got what he wanted. He should be pleased.
