Of course only those of a certain age will remember him, and Take Hart, the show he did.

NotADragonOfSoup · 18/01/2009 17:35

I can still remember how to draw the VisoinOn Frog though.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 18/01/2009 17:35

LyraSilvertongue · 18/01/2009 17:42

I loved Take Hart.

Raahh · 18/01/2009 21:48

have only just dfound out about this. I read about his sadness at not being able to draw post stroke. So sad. He was a such a part of my childhood

piratecat · 19/01/2009 08:20

only just saw this on the msn homepage. I loved him, i am of a certain age! He contributed as in inspired me getting on with me arty stuff when i was younger, and then on to art college.

RIP Tony Hart

MadameCastafiore · 19/01/2009 08:21

Oh that is so sad - the show was excellent and Tony Hart aways seemed like a lovely man!

I bet Morph and Chas are devastated too!

MadameCastafiore · 19/01/2009 08:22

SORRY!!

wotulookinat · 19/01/2009 08:30

it's sad isn't it? I used to love him on the telly when I was little.

throckenholt · 19/01/2009 08:40

those of an even more certain age will remember vision on too

He was inspirational (he and Johnny Morris both stick in my memory).

Botbot · 19/01/2009 09:02

Does this mean Morph is now an orphan? A Morphan?

MadameCastafiore · 19/01/2009 10:03

Did you know he designed the ship on the Blue Peter Badge - originally asked for 1p for every badge made but was advised to take a paltry £100 instead!

Seeline · 19/01/2009 10:07

I still remember Vision On very clearly - and Morph (although I was probably too old to be watching that!) Tony Hart was brilliant - I always felt close to him as my Dad was an artist too. He will be missed.

mummyofboys · 19/01/2009 12:53

Was the first person to produce a programme for deaf children with signing 'Vision On' - he also designed the Blue Peter Badge .... a real institution and was my inspiration (much to my mums annoyance) to paint. May you be happy in that big gallery in the sky Tony

TsarChasm · 19/01/2009 18:05

The nice thing about Vision On was that anyone could watch it and enjoy it.

It just happened to include signing and anyone who was interested rather than making a big deal out of being a 'special' programme. I liked that.

Was very saddened to learn of Tony Hart's death today. The above link shows the Gallery.

Rest in Peace Mr Hart. You leave a fine legacy.
