Very very strange man, and I still think he did it.

OP posts:
NotAnOtter · 12/10/2008 20:20

he has mental health problems does n't he

hospital is where he belongs

forevercleaning · 12/10/2008 20:24

i suppose the other way to look at this is to ask yourself

Would you be more than happy to have him as your neighbour? If no, then why presume someone else has to have him on their doorstep, I know I would be very uncomfortable with it.

As I said in a previous post, this man needs constant supervision, for the saftey of himself (vigilantes) and for others.

dinny · 12/10/2008 20:27

FC - I posted earlier that my sil does have him as a neighbour (not next door but opposite on adjacent street) and fwiw had never heard of him prior to JD

so, since the JD case, and the knowledge of his prior convictions, and the fact that he was stalking someone else at the time JD was killed (his own admission) does she still feel comfortable with that?

dinny · 12/10/2008 20:30

exactly, would have to lock up half the population of London

forevercleaning · 12/10/2008 20:31

blood and mutts - did i say locked up?

Thought i said supervised

dinny · 12/10/2008 20:32

FC - I just mean that he's had no impact on her life at all

southeastastra · 12/10/2008 20:33

anyone who has a previous conviction for sexual offences should most definately be supervised.

Sarah payne anyone?

Mercy · 12/10/2008 20:39

BG has learning difficulties afaik. That doesn't make him strange, just different.

Maybe he should have some support now - I bet he hasn't had much of it in his life.

wannaBe · 12/10/2008 20:43

I'm sure the fact he aledgedly has mental problems is little consollation to the women he has stalked/asalted.

IMO the mental illness card comes out all too often these days. "he has suffered with mental illness," so does that make it alright then? I think not.

If he has suffered from some kind of mental illness then he needs closer supervision, but I don't see why people should have any sympathy with someone who spends their time stalking women in the name of "mental illness."

summerdressesandlacyboots · 12/10/2008 20:47

Not locked up as he has been found innocent of killing Jill Dando

But the way he is going he will be locked up soon for something. He looks absolutely lost and has obviously got mental health issues. I wonder if he has a care worker anywhere or whether the door was open and he has been let out with no help.

Mercy · 12/10/2008 20:48

It's not his fault he suffers mental illness or learning difficulties.

It's the fault of the system which has either not recognised/accepted this and therefore not offered him the right support or supervision from a much earlier age.

Requiring support or supervision does not equal locking up in my opnion

nickytwoooohtimes · 12/10/2008 20:50

Am totally at the op. Jeez!
'...He is just odd.' FFS.

mayorquimby · 12/10/2008 21:22

"I'm not convinced he didn't do it."

brilliant just brilliant.
well thankfully he doesn't have to prove he didn't do it.nobody has to prove their innocence.innocence is presumed and it must be proved that he did do it, not the other way around.

southeastastra · 12/10/2008 21:23

he is odd though, come on

summerdressesandlacyboots · 12/10/2008 21:27

I dont think he has the intelligence to keep up the denial for years if he did do it, I thought right from the beginning he was innocent of the killing. Though not an innocent IYSWIM

2shoesdrippingwithblood · 13/10/2008 09:15

he is odd, but there isn't a law against being odd.
there was an article about him in the mail on saturday, but I couldn't be arsed to read it.

onceinalifetime · 17/10/2008 13:15

Haven't read every post but apparently Kay Burley has now put in an official complaint about him harrassing her.

LouMacca · 17/10/2008 13:27

at onceinalifetime post. How scary for Kay Burley. First i've heard about that.

DaphneMoon · 17/10/2008 13:47

He only went in and asked for a copy of the interview. Why is Kay Burley so scared. Is that all he has done or has she proof that he is stalking her. She interviewed him and he called in for a copy, hardly the crime of the century. I'm not sure whether he ever killed JD, for sure he is an odd character, but that does not make him a murderer. I guess we will never know. Doesn't necessarily mean he is a danger to Kay Burley though or have I missed another report on this.

onceinalifetime · 17/10/2008 13:58

Other papers have reported that he was downloading photos of her and sleeping with them - apparently he's staying in a hostel and someone reported it. Could be utter crap but with what's happened, you'd think he'd have more sense than to drop round to tv studios and would be keeping a low profile. I wouldn't be particularly happy to be Kay Burley, given his history tbh.

DaphneMoon · 17/10/2008 14:02

Oh well, I suppose she has a right to be a little worried then. You just don't know what to believe in the papers.
