Reading quite a few threads lately where mums-to-be are denied the resources of the NHS to have the birth they wish for (water, home, etc) I'm flabbergasted to read this:

What a disgusting piece of writing in that article. It is no wonder people that regularly read that pile of tripe are the way they are.

Of course Leanne needed a section, very few people can deliver triplets naturally. Would those negative posters (including Kerrymum - I'm surprised at you by the way and think you should pay more attention to people's feelings when posting) rather that she was forced to have a termination? What other choice was there? Leave her alone and let her get on with her children.

Although I have to say, that I'm very surprised that she is 40 stone - she looks like a few people I know who are about 20-25 stone.

FOR LEANNE
Congratulations Leanne on the safe arrival of your babies. You have every right to get pregnant, have a safe delivery and not be ridiculed. You seem very brave for going it alone with 3 and it sounds like you have great friends to support you (unlike the triplets insensitive father - who you sound better off without by the way)

Nice to see it's still ok to be fatist

I'm gobsmacked that this woman is being put down for getting pregnant in the first place. So she has an active sexlife, are fat people not allowed anymore?

Triplets would need a CS in most cases so not her fault for making multiples

I'd like to know how many people would be needed for a 'normal' sized person to deliver triplets, I bet it isn't much different. There was about 10 people in room when I had mine

This whole thing makes me very sad. I'd like to wish this new family all the luck in the world

Just to add that I needed an emergency c-section for my dts delivery and I gained a lot of weight during the pregnancy despite not eating that much and despite eating well.

I also have a thyroid problem and know a lot of people who have one (both hypo and hyper) and no one is that weight.

It is never that simple.

shoot me first, Hecate

Mamazon · 18/08/2008 23:16

she looks about the same size as me.
Glad to know that i am a disgrace and shouldn't have been able to have children.

edam · 18/08/2008 23:17

MazzaGee, please send some more congratulations to Leanne!

LuLuMacGloo · 18/08/2008 23:27

Disgusting article. Haven't read all other posts so excuse me if repeating but would be v curious to know what the costs are for a 'regular' woman having tripets - not much less I would imagine.

I wish her all the very best.

GivePeasAChance · 18/08/2008 23:28

I think I saw her on something this morning - probably GMTV or similar tabloid crap. I felt very sorry for her and the way the Dr was talking about her as if she was a freak.

I don't get what the 'story' is ?

Mamazon · 18/08/2008 23:33

oh the story is the fact that someone actually found her attractive and wanted to sleep with her and get her pregnant.

us fatties are freaks after all and how on earth would anyone want to have sex with us?

GivePeasAChance · 18/08/2008 23:44

Oh and anyway, who the f came up with the figure of £ 200k. How much were these people being paid ??

Pure tripe

Aitch · 18/08/2008 23:49

i've just seen your profile pic mamazon and can think off the top of my head of about fifty reasons why most people would want to sleep with you, you beautiful eejit.

congrats to leanne again. just think, it's ten to midnight... three babies... blimey. fabulous but terrifying.

make it quick please.

of course leanne has a right to become a mother. i also find it very hard to believe that she is 40 stone. maybe she was 40 stone with three babies and all the placenta inside of her, but i very much doubt that she is 40 stone now.

congrats leanne. also there is help available from the nhs on weight and thyroid issues. my sister sees a dietician regularly for advise and support. she has a hormonal condition that causes her a lot of pain and is not helped by her weight problem. she had to fight but she did eventually get the help that she needed she was a size 16 at her biggest, so if she is entitled to this help then so are you. you just need to be adamant about getting it. she has now lost weight and looks great. her hormonal problem is much better but still causes her some pain.

good luck with the babies and the weight loss.

well if the babies were born at term, or thereabouts - that is EASILY 3st off before anything else... what with three children (average 6lb say... so that's nearly 1.5st) and then three placentas, or one enormous one plus all the fluid (amniotic and any retained as we ALL have....)

So, from my LOGICAL thoughts - I believe this is a pile of shit and I can't trust a word of it; other than the babies and Leanne are healthy and happy, for the simple fact that they can't even "report" sensibly.

Mamazon... OMG! you are GORGEOUS!!

Mamazon · 19/08/2008 11:48

well i dunno about gorgeous but am certainly overwieght.

Last time i went to Slimming world i was 20st! and i have put weight back on since then.

This story really makes me angry. and rather self concious actually. like im walking down the road with my children and people will be looking at me and thinking i was a drain on resources or something.

wotulookinat · 19/08/2008 12:11

I feel the same as you, Mamazon - although I am not as gorgeous as you!

InTheseShoes · 19/08/2008 12:23

And this is why I cannot bear the NOTW.

No mention whatsoever of how much a triplet C-section would usually cost - why it would be two shillings and sixpence, non? The rest of the cost is because she is fat! Of course!!! It's all gasp how can a fat lady have had sex??? Go to pubs??? Why is she not at home sobbing into a tub of Ben and Jerry's at her plight??? Absolute bastards, when you think of the cash wasted on other things that are far less important than three lovely little babies being brought safely into the world.

mazzagee, please add my congratulations to Leanne and her little ones, and I really hope that she gets support to lost weight, as she will soon be chasing the triplets around the park!

mamazon - rowr, you are a FOX!

Alambil · 19/08/2008 12:25

Me too mamazon but you are GORGEOUS and beautiful...

you have lovely, long hair; beautiful and deep dark eyes; the hint of a lovely smile and a bosom to die for...

We have GOT to start loving (well, liking first!) at least one part of ourselves, or else we'll go mad.

Yes, we are overweight (am also near 20st)

Yes, we are unhealthy

NO - we are NOT unattractive and

NO we are NOT draining any resources.

Lose weight if you want - for you, for your health, but NOT because society says you have to.

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 19/08/2008 12:26

mamazon if i looked like you i wouldnt mind being overweight. you are stunning.
