Wedding list here too although forced into it by MIL. We didn't live together, had just bought our first flat which was empty and the presents, which ranged greatly in price helped to set us up. Can't see why it's sparking such heated reactions. It's a shame for everyone involved.

Guest lists are fantastic. We had 4 weddings close together one year and on a rainy miserable afternoon instead of battling round Oxford St we just sat at the computer and got all the presents, knowing we were buying things each couple actually wanted. I think they are for the benefit of the guests and shudder when there isnt one (but then I am lazy and hate shopping).
