Very, very sad. It puts all our problems in perspective.

You know, I can't help thinking it was for the best. Can you imagine waking up to find your newlywed spouse was dead.....?

Will they be buried together now? I hope so

Live life to the full, MNetters, cos we never know, do we...?

MamaGLovesMe · 03/08/2008 19:20

When I told my DH he said it was probably for the best. And while I know that sounds cruel, I am sure I am not the only one who understands what he means. If it had been me, I wouldn't have wanted to fight to live without him.

motherinferior · 03/08/2008 19:47

I don't think it's for the best: I think it's bloody tragic, actually.

MamaGLovesMe · 03/08/2008 19:49

I am not disputing that.

It's horrendous. Maybe they can be laid to rest together. I agree that it's a tragedy, but feel maybe it was for the best he didn't wake up.

MatNanPlus · 03/08/2008 19:54

It seems that they wanted him in the UK should they have the horrid decision of stopping his life support.

I feel for both the families, they have lost so much for no reason

The poor families, they were celebrating the happiest day of their children's life a little while ago, probably looking foward to granchildren and now thats all been taken away.

peachygirl · 03/08/2008 19:58

This is incredibly sad news.

MamaGLovesMe · 03/08/2008 20:01

Did either family have other children?

ChirpyGirl · 03/08/2008 21:52

This is so sad, DH and I met Catherine when DD1 was in hospital last month, she was lovely and the only doc who actually spoke to DD1 first to ask how she was. And she left her her stethoscope to play with when she was really upset. DD thought she was great, and I hope the family take comfort and know that she was a great doctor who did help people.

Is so awful, and so sad, I hope the family/ies get some closure.

onlyjoking9329 · 03/08/2008 21:59

So sad for both families, but I think they would have wished to be together, he would have probably had terrible problems for life even if he had come round, and as someone else said you cannot imagine he would have wished to go on without her
