That mum - such a feminist! Seriously though, the mum is so shallow and it's a discgrace that she's bringing up her daughter to be as superficial.

I really feelbad for the daughter

That article sums up a lot of what is wrong today - an unhealthy preoccupation with celebrity, looks/cosmetic surgery and lack of ambition and parents who cannot say no and mean it) from time to time.

itati · 07/07/2008 17:21

I read this earlier today and just feel so sorry for the child and so shocked she can do this.

GorgonsGin · 07/07/2008 18:05

But am i right in thinking that by dressing her daughter up like a child tart, the mother is getting what she wants? The poor girl is a freak show, but because of her plastic nails, fake bake and £300 of beauty treatments she gets to appear on LK today, Wife Swap, a Daily Mail feature and have a whole BBC documentary about her. Sure, the mother's mental and it's child abuse, but it's working, isn't it .

It's like she has that Munchausen's By Proxy syndrome or whatever - you know, people who abuse their children to get attention for themselves.

Urgh, it's all horrid.

Heifer · 07/07/2008 18:17

Personally think the woman should spend that £300 on herself instead!

I wonder at what age her mother will be encouraging her to get her baps out for some work!

Very sad and sheer madness....

The mother was on wife swap and her glamour model career isn't over yet you know

This has just reared its ugly head again - Sasha (that's the kid's name) will be on BBC3 on Monday 14th July at 9pm, explaining how she loves being a beauty queen at 11.

Sadly for me, I don't have the gadgetry for BBC3 so am denied the "pleasure" of rubbernecking at this travesty. I'll just have to watch New Tricks instead, wot a shame!

wittyusername · 13/07/2008 10:45

oh thumbwitch - there's always BBC iPlayer

piratecat · 13/07/2008 10:48

silly cow.

(sighs)

thumbwitch · 13/07/2008 12:29

thanks witty!

JamieJay · 13/07/2008 12:37

This does really scare me, I look at the pictures and think pretty girl and then have to remind myself that she's fecking 11 and not 18!!

What scares me is the thought of what will happen when she hits puberty, if she gains a bit of puppy fat or the odd spot (pretty likely) is her mum going to be putting on some hard-core diet or sending her for laser treatments

Hecate · 13/07/2008 13:30

Clearly living through her daughter. It's all about her, isn't it? She failed and she wants another go. She can pretend it's her.

Sad.
Bordering on abusive.
But not uncommon, unfortunatly. I know several people who are living out their unfulfilled dreams through their children.

Flashman · 13/07/2008 20:32

That is shocking - but I am thinking of some poor bloke in 15 years (assuming that she is not the next Jordan), having to cope with that little princess!
