why this monster(apologies to monsters but didn't want to swear) is being allowed to get away with what he is doing? why is the rest of the world not stopping him.
I mean this country.

The problem is that something should have been done ages ago (though I am not sure what...) Everyone has just sat back and watched whilst Mugabe ruins a wonderful country. Now it is time for the SADC countries to do something. There is talk that Jacob Zuma might make a stand unlike Mbeki.
We used to live there and we are in contact with lots of people still there. Bizarrely life does still go on - it has to. The trouble is all these problems have been growing steadily year by year so people just deal with it and then wake up one day and realise it has all gone too far.
I don't think Tsvangerai could have done anything else.

Someone on Today was saying that there are thet too many people around Mugabe with seriously dodgy pasts that have not only too much to lose, but would also face reprisals if they actually lose power. So he isn't being allowed to stand down, even assuming he wanted to.
