I wasn't comparing the two incidents. I was saying I admired the meticulous planning that went into the twin towers attack, even though for a horrific outcome.

I realised, I can’t personally detach from horrific outcome or use word admire to describe it in any context personally.

KnickerlessParsons · 22/10/2025 23:31

I’m not admiring the outcome.

I realise. It’s a very sensitive topic. Let’s stick to Louvre, I saw someone filmed it.

Surely they must have CCTV of their faces?

CCTV woefully lacking! No camera covered the place where they broke in. 1 in 3 rooms don't have CCTV at the Louvre. Incredible lack of security for a place so important like this. Makes me wonder what the situation is like at the British Museum or National Gallery.

A forensic worker in white overall, gloves and mask exits the balcony door above a sign saying 'Musee du Louvre galeris des antiques' while another officer takes a photo of the scene, in Paris on 19 October.

Louvre failed to spot jewel thieves early enough, says museum boss

Laurence des Cars said there was only one camera pointing on the gallery which was robbed.

The look on the face of the officer leaning on the car.

So how do you say WTF in French?

Waiting on the movie coming out already.

I love this photo in the Independent. Quintessentially French don't you think

Unfortunately not...the well-dressed man is likely just a member of the public who happened to be passing by: https://apnews.com/article/louvre-jewels-heist-ap-photo-thibault-camus-06a43f6e6b46689754e7f57929d0151d

Or it’s the ‘one last job’ old lag brigade with someone youthful & dapper checking investigations on ground. :)

The Hatton Garden heist robbers screwed up by using a souped up merc to case joint.

topcat2014 · 25/10/2025 15:55

I was gutted the smart young man was not the detective. I so wanted this to be true! At least it wasn't AI - I'm getting worse at spotting it

HelenaRavenclaw · 26/10/2025 14:30

Two suspects now arrested based on DNA at the crime scene: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c2em38pdv0do

But is it too late to recover the jewels if they have already been broken up and shipped off?
