Boris or Ken - ramblings of a undecided voter - please help

I want to vote for Ken (despite him being the labour candidate) again as I think he has worked hard to give London a modern identity and increase tourism, promoting London with good advertising and events.

Why should Boris the Buffoon ride his coat tails and be given all Kens good work to flag wave as his own? Crime, Environment, Housing, Greenbelt etc, obviously whoever is chosen will do their best for London - its all hot air to win votes, these type of changes will be made by whoever is London Mayor.

I feel I voted Ken in with gusto a few years ago on a wave of London Pride (not the beer) and that I should give him the job again. He's fearless of Government and will not be dictated to unlike ......

opinions please

Hey Orangina- you might find this useful in explaining the who 'wasted' vote issue.

Can't believe I'm helping someone vote for that twit Boris

orangina · 01/05/2008 12:09

Thank you Izzy, was wondering if you were going to be able to respond to me as a non Ken voter!

orangina · 01/05/2008 12:09

(and fwiw, i think boris is a twit too, just less dangerous than ken......)

Izzywhizzy · 01/05/2008 12:10

I have to be honest and say, it's killing me. But I suppose that's Ken-voters for you....honest, fair, even-handed, just wanting the best for London, etc, etc

orangina · 01/05/2008 12:19
Grin
orangina · 01/05/2008 12:22

Apparently I'm a "strategic voter"... here

Izzywhizzy · 01/05/2008 12:28

Are you voting for Ken then? That's what your website says you should do.

Glad to have you on board!!

orangina · 01/05/2008 12:33

will let you know tomorrow what i finally decided

Izzywhizzy · 01/05/2008 12:39

Maybe this will help you decide. Article in today's Times saying that Boris won't give up being an MP if he's elected- he'll be running London part-time.....

Izzywhizzy · 01/05/2008 13:19

And here's some examples of Boris' finest moments....

here, here and here.

ANd if you vote for Ken second, that gives you an insurance policy against Boris because the chances are this will go to second preferences anyway.

moodlumthehoodlum · 01/05/2008 13:25

Vote Boris. Anything is better than corrupt, lying, pointless tax raising, Ken surely? Put his hundred spin doctors out of a job and get better value for your taxes.

Izzywhizzy · 01/05/2008 13:26

Tell me why you think Ken is corrupt.

Izzywhizzy · 01/05/2008 13:38

Helloooooo!!! Are you just posting and running or are you going to answer my question? Am genuinely interested in why you think Ken is corrupt.

orangina · 01/05/2008 13:44

(sorry izzy, if you are talking to me, I'm at work and have a giant pile of stuff to do on my desk.... think you might be talking to moodlum though...)

Izzywhizzy · 01/05/2008 13:47

No orangina- not you. I was talking to Moodlum. She must have loads to do too.

No one wants to play with me.....

pooka · 01/05/2008 13:48

Think Izzy is talking to Moodlum.

Love the links. I wonder if he has any idea yet about how much it would cost to bring back the routemaster. He just hasn't got a clue.

Particularly like the HIGNFY clip. Had forgotten about his links with Guppy and his part in the plan to beat up a journalist. Might try and google for the transcript.

moodlumthehoodlum · 01/05/2008 13:48

sorry. running out of door with two screaming children. fear not. have plenty to remark on re ken's corruption and the corruption of those around him, but you'll have to wait until i have restored peace here and returned from m&s...

orangina · 01/05/2008 13:49

It's not a question of wanting boris. I think they are both dreadful. It's who do I want less?
(brain is going to explode, absolutely must do some work now)

moodlumthehoodlum · 01/05/2008 13:56

be back after tea time.. will play then

Izzywhizzy · 01/05/2008 13:57

I'll be out voting for Ken at tea-time so we might miss each other...

pooka · 01/05/2008 13:59

www.whatnextjournal.co.uk/Pages/Politics/Boris2.html

This was what I found on "Guppygate"

Also, had forgotten how pro-Iraq Boris had been, how pro-Bush he still is.

OrangeKnickers · 01/05/2008 15:42

re: bendy buses.......you can get loads of pushchairs on them - they are great!

Please don't Boris.

OrangeKnickers · 01/05/2008 15:45

Please don't vote Boris.

Or "to Boris" - be chronically unfaithful and monumentally over-privileged.

What does he know about Londoners' lives? Didn't he marry the Duke of Gloucester's daughter?
