I never start threads (I am the kiss of death to them) but I'm just too intrigued...has NO-ONE posted on this story then?! Just interested in what you all think.

OP posts:

I am a big fan of John Prescott, I think he is ace

Although like Skinty I did note the "my wife saw the signs in the toilet" and thought FGS typical MAN can't even have a secret eating disorder without his wife having to clear it up

LittleBella · 21/04/2008 18:06

LOLOL at so many parts of your post MP.

  1. Being a fan of JP. That's just wierd.
  1. Wife having to clean up his secret eating disorder.
LittleBella · 21/04/2008 18:06

OK, only 2 parts of your post, actually.

yes, I agree
I don't think that he is looking for sympathy is he, he is trying to raise awareness I think.
eating disorders really aren't all that flipping hilarious tbh.
and as for bulimics not losing weight
tbh, I would have expected a little more understanding and a little less ignorance on here.

morningpaper · 21/04/2008 19:34

Not sure why you think this thread is so bad, it seems quite understanding. What's so awful?

I agree, I think it's good that he's brought it into the public domain.

BTW It was Prescott who said that people would think he was a crap bulimic because he was so fat.

LittleBella · 21/04/2008 20:08

I don't think he's looking for sympathy, he knows perfectly well that he is unlikely to get any sympathy at all, and that any sympathy he does get will be vastly outweighed by derision and mockery.

He's not completely stupid, contrary to his image.

harpsichordcarrier · 21/04/2008 20:10

well mp e.g. Now all I can imagine is him stuffing pies and chips then barfing them in the HoC bogs.

harpsichordcarrier · 21/04/2008 20:39

(I appreciate I am having a bit of a soh failure here, soz for grumpiness)

thingamajig · 21/04/2008 20:40

I find it very odd that, contrary to dull witch, nothing has been said about it impacting his political decisions. If he was a woman, I bet this would be the first thing said, "Why was someone so stessed by his job that they developed a serious mental illness responsible for the country during time that he was deputy PM?" etc
