You only need a bit.

ChutneyMary · 01/05/2008 20:30

Bossy, if you're still overburdened with it, I'd love to buy a tub from you. Do you do paypal?

MrsCarrot · 01/05/2008 20:30

a bit less than what I put on obviously, I look like I just finished a shift in the chip shop.

SparklyGothKat · 01/05/2008 20:32

CM, Thank you but I have one from another MNetter to borrow. Thanks anyway

bossybritches · 01/05/2008 22:48

snigger at Mrs C!!!

I literally smear my face with the SMALLEST amount, & only at night, it does feel like chip fat otherwise!!! (hastily pointing out I've never done that either!!)

CM you 're welcome CAT me with your details.

cherubtastic · 08/05/2008 20:15

Can I just ask if it is supposed to feel slightly 'grainy' or have I got a dodgy tub????

chocolatespiders · 08/05/2008 20:16

mine feels grainy

it has been great for dd's pimply face... just applied at night

cherubtastic · 08/05/2008 20:20

Oh good, not just me then - doubles as a gentle exfoliator too - bonus!

SlartyBartFast · 08/05/2008 20:21

perhaps the person who started this craze, applying it to your face was a pathological liar....

or perhaps its just sour grapes as i still haven't managed to get hold of any.

cherubtastic · 08/05/2008 20:33

I resorted to ebay as someone in a previous thread actually named and shamed my local Waitrose as having some in stock! I have spent 6 weeks doing daily store checks - feckin do-gooder -

SlartyBartFast · 08/05/2008 20:34

e bay??
was it worth it?

cherubtastic · 08/05/2008 20:47

I think so. I paid £4 in total which although is more than in store isn't bad compared to some ebay prices. That is much less than my usual face cream and it makes my skin feel lovely. It's quite heavy on the face so can see why it would cause spots but it is totally fab on my hands which are VVVV dry!

BouncingTurtle · 09/05/2008 10:23

I saw this on BBC News 24 and one of the presenters was saying "how on earth did someone think of putting it on their face". I commented to DH that I bet it was an Musnetter!
Go on own up who was it?

BouncingTurtle · 09/05/2008 10:24

Mumsnetter.

I think my laptop keyboard needs a clean...

Rosylily · 09/05/2008 10:32

Had to laugh at women with babies being young with good skin anyway

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 09/05/2008 10:56

bossybritches, do you still have any of your spare pots left? We don't have a waitrose anywhere near us. Most expensive one I've seen on ebay (with p+p) is £13.50!

I have paypal, I'll CAT you now in case you have any left.

Nero · 09/05/2008 11:12

'Twas me who started the craze!! (have namechanged since - was FriedGreenTomatoes)

I still can't believe that one post on MN led to a UK-wide shortage. LOL

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 09/05/2008 11:23

arf at gushing bree

My newborn will have to make do with Sudocrem because Ocado hasn't any Bottom Butter either.

SlartyBartFast · 09/05/2008 16:57

so Nero

are you a pathological liar?

Nero · 09/05/2008 19:18

Absolutely not! Just a bit menatl, hence putting bum cream on my face

And I am regretting telling my secret tip now cos I can't get hold of a new tub!

policywonk · 09/05/2008 20:58

My local Waitrose was awash with the stuff this morning. I am prepared to sell it on to my fellow MNers for a bargain price of just £14.99.

beautyscientist · 26/05/2008 20:56

I have just written a couple of articles on my website about the craze over the Waitrose Cream. I didn't think I would be able to find the original start point for this story so I was really pleased to find this with a bit of searching. It has been really nice to find you.

bossybritches · 29/05/2008 17:51

ooh this reminds me several people wanted a pot if I got some!

I now have 3 pristine pot sitting next to my desk at home. CAT me anyone who wants one!

BeautyS I will send you a list of the ingredients later if no one else beats me to it!

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 29/05/2008 20:23

have just texted dh to call in @ waitrose on way home. he thinks it is hilarious (and reminded me of the time when I went to brittany and searched in the forest for the reputed arthurian legendary 'fountain of eternal youth' - his first comment when I got back was - 'you didn't find it, then')
