It gets worse.

Do you think shes the kind of person we just love to hate, before shes even been found guilty, or not guilty?

It seems the whole family want to get thier 10pence woirth in. don;t they?

I think if the sister really cares about her nephews & nieces she should keep her mouth shut- - does she really want her nephew to be called 'Tesco bum' for the rest of his school days?

themoon66 · 10/04/2008 10:05

Isn't her sister a MNer?

one of her half-sisters is an MNer but I think has said she's not commenting publicly.

I think university-educated journalists with all the advantages in life that the Matthews family will never hve, need to stop stalking people in Dewsbury and offering them cash to tell the world every last failing of Karen Matthews.
I am starting to feel quite sick of the way the media is now handling this case.

flubdub · 10/04/2008 10:07

Her half sister is an mner I think, but shes never met her.

Sisterhood - at its best

motherinferior · 10/04/2008 10:09

I have two kids and get them mixed up. I call them by the cats' names sometimes. If I had seven I'd definitely forget one. Probably in the shops. Seriously.

Well quite MI - and mine are even different genders

CatIsSleepy · 10/04/2008 10:10

am not sure how it helps anyone to have her sister spilling all this bile to the papers
unless she is trying to distance herself from karen's actions

tbh I don't want to hear it!

marina · 10/04/2008 10:11

Fio, I wonder how any of us would manage to make our way in life with the sort of start and upbringing I am guessing Karen Matthews might have had. How do you ground yourself and work out right from wrong in such a chaotic and impermanent environment

NorthernLurker · 10/04/2008 10:11

If the whole no nappy thing was really going on wouldn't you have thought a caring and aware aunt would have contacted the authorities with her concerns? Cheque book journalism or what?

No1ErmaBombeckfan · 10/04/2008 10:11

My mother named me - albeit only a 3 letter name - and she can't remember it...

When I was called after the dog's name, I knew I was in trouble....

Well put Marina...

CatIsSleepy · 10/04/2008 10:12

agree with marina
am not sure what all this muck-raking is meant to achieve
it's pretty horrible

Oliveoil · 10/04/2008 10:12

I wonder how much she was paid for this? Disgraceful.

flubdub · 10/04/2008 10:15

But wouldnt you all hate your sister if you found out she'd had your niece 'kidnapped' for money?!

Doesnt she have every right to speak out?

motherinferior · 10/04/2008 10:16

I've just read that piece. It makes me feel rather sick to be a journalist, tbh.

marina · 10/04/2008 10:17

flubdub, I wouldn't go to the press personally. I would not feel I had "a right to speak out".
