I'd like to just say thank you to all.

This thread (as well as the Times article) is why I bloody love this place.

Nice bit of self-promotion from Caitlin in name-checking one of her own posts.

Nighbynight · 15/03/2008 20:31

I met Red Rum in Wincanton

Flamesparrow · 15/03/2008 21:48

She couldn't have done a quick plug about Flamesparrow's hassling everyone to use cloth nappies, and then bunged in a link to bumfluff could she?

Caitlin, if you're reading - Cloth Nappy Week in April

its a website not my fasmily

a very nice website tho

ZippiBabes · 16/03/2008 08:58

i can see why people think that bbut i have had a few weeks of trying not to think too much with a degree of success

Twiglett · 16/03/2008 08:58

Let me just clarify: I am neither pissed off nor envious; I very much like every poster mentioned and probably personally consider them as MN elite.

Yes, as a non-member of netmums, I would be put off by an officially condoned group of posters:
if I then tried to join I would be on the look-out for them and give their words more weight;
I would probbaly be concerned about pissing them off as would appreciate that longer-time posters would have more of a relationship with them;
I would consider that their posts coloured the tone of the boards and possibly unconciously reflect their styles in my posts

In the tone of the article it's all very well, it is the cumulative effect of newsletter, special features.

I think it is a strategic mistake. I've said that before.

suzywong · 16/03/2008 09:00

Agree with Twiglett and Mild. It's like MNHQ have a box files comments about posters' characters and the top 4 got handed on the the journo.

I think it's time for some lying low in the media until the book launch and getting back to being a talkboard and not a clique.
