Must be awful to deal with the affairs at the same time as greiving for him and dealing with the children too

didn't realise loggersheads was a strong term, just meant to say that we'd agree to disagree. although i'd agree with what others have said,in that blaming the media is a bit like blaming gillette if he used a razor to slit his wrists. the situation was all his own making and the papers did what they do.they reported the news.in fact telling him they were going to run the story was fairly ethical given the situation and merely gave him the right of reply.he could apologise,he could deny it or he could refuse to comment.he could warn his wife and tell her on his terms rather than being woken up by a startling suprise.
anyway i've said my piece.

I don't think personal issues should be press fodder - him having an affair doesn't reflect on his ability to do his job so what's it got to do with anybody other than those directly impacted - ?

I think the tabloid journalits (on the whole)behave pretty despicably (sp?).

His family must be going through hell.

God another high=ranking official who couldn't keep his trousers zipped......

and his poor wife is left to do the grieving widow bit just to protect her children when really she feels like howling at the sky & scratching his tarts eyes out.
