Oh what awful news. Here's hoping for a miracle for him. Like many here, I 'grew up' on Dirty Dancing - we watched it on our school trip to Paris in Y8 (which YorkieGirl might remember )! And that last dance sequence always makes me smile.

MB, I'm so glad your dh is doing so well. I remember how black things looked last Christmas, and how much better things have been recently. Hope things contine to go well. x

I just can't believe this. Dirty Dancing is my fave film of all time and I love Patrick Swayze.

I hope he proves them all wrong!!

Good God, have you seen how The Mail directly quotes his doctor (as stated in the other link by Kinder) but choses to make headlines out of the (probably) grossly exaggerated prognosis! How cruel!

Poor Patrick. He's fab. I hope he gets through this

I have loved Patrick for years. I remember sitting on my own in an American movie theatre watching a double bill simply because Patrick was in the second film.

Does state that the "5 weeks to live" part is untrue. But it is pancreatic cancer. However apparently he only has a small amount of the disease and is responding to treatment, and contuinuing work on films as he undergoes the treatment.

just read this in the Daily Mirror this morning...awww so sad

ALSO the ITN newsreader Carol Barnes is fighting for her life due to a stroke she had on Sunday and is unlikely to survive . Her 24 yrs old DD died 4 yrs ago skydiving.

I hope that he does well.

In reality he is going to be exceptionally lucky to 'beat' pancreatic cancer.

Dh is beating the odds, but it is still killing him, just at a slower rate than it was at the point of diagnosis.

IF PS is fortunate he will have a cancer that responds well to treatment. I hope that he does. Having seen what dh has gone through, he will be very, very fortunate if he manages to carry on filming through the treatment.

Oh no!! I didn't know that!! Terrible thing Cancer both my grandparents died of bowel cancer, i am at high risk so have to be checked every 5 yrs!! Poor fella, i so loved him in Dirty Dancing yummy!!, used to watch it over and over when was 15/16 with my mate..so sad i know..kept rewinding it..i didn't know about Carol Barnes either, don't watch tv much, these days!!

And I love his song - she's like the wind - which is well naff, but I love it/love it/love it.

I was just Dirty Dancing nutty when I was a teenager. I caught two trains to buy the sound track (on vinyl natrually! Twas all there was!) on the first day it came out at a particular shop. I had pictures I had drawn (copied!) all over my bedroom wall (couldn't afford offical posters.. I broke the bank buying the sound track!)

I loved Patrick Swayze from when he starred in North and South (as Orry Main) on TV so I was in my element when DD and then Ghost came out!
