Jack Monroe on BBC Question Time tonight

JM is a guest tonight, along with Chris Patton, chancellor Oxford University, Nimco Ali, The Five Foundation, Jess Phillips, Labour and George Freeman, Conservative. She is described by the BBC as an activist.
Genuinely interested to see what she has to say ‘in the flesh’ and how she comes across as I’ve only read her Twitter responses to her critics on Twitter and articles either holding her up as a saviour of the poor or alternatively, condemning her for grifting.

she (is she correct?) seems a very strange choice in the current climate....

I find that she comes across very awkwardly on tv. A far cry from the bolshy persona on Twitter, she always comes across like a rabbit in the headlights on live telly in particular. I don't quite know how she's got the brass neck to be honest. The claims of grifting and downright theft against her are seeming more and more probable.

What activism has she actually done?

It’s just if one’s agenda is poverty activism, it seems rather fluffy to be showing off to your followers the coordinated outfit with the killer heels you are planning on wearing (and thereby fishing for compliments)

I’ve just seen clips of her on QT on Twitter and she is giving a good account of herself. A bit nervous, yes, but articulate and making some good points.

Half an hour on telly doesn't negate her lies and scamming. The revelations about those (which, let's face it, come pretty thick and fast) helped me to decide she's a grifter, liar and scammer.
