Random. I was just wondering the same thing last night.

FranLyon · 20/02/2008 20:20

Hello,

We're happy as can be in our new home. Thanks for asking and thinking of us.

Fran

expatinscotland · 20/02/2008 20:20

Glad to read it, Fran!

Congratulations, too!

FranLyon · 20/02/2008 20:21

Thanks Expat.

2happy · 20/02/2008 20:22

Hey, good to hear from you; glad you're still on MN

expatinscotland · 20/02/2008 20:23

Oh, and welcome to the club!

Very pleased for you and when we'd heard that you'd safely delivered it was a relief all around.

Remember we're here for you!

BabiesEverywhere · 20/02/2008 20:39

Great to hear from you

How is it being a mum ? Hopeing you are loving every minute of it (well the mess of nappies and late night feedings excluded)

MN and I are rather inseparable these days! All my questions are answered before I ask them - it's amazing!!

Thanks again Expat. MN was such a wonderful source of support during those bloody awful days - I'm glad you all got the news we were safe and sound!

FranLyon · 20/02/2008 20:47

Loving every single second - even the late night feeds. There were so many days when I thought I'd never know Molly, each and every moment is so incredibly precious now. That's not to say I'm not tired and all the rest of it - but knowing how close we came to losing everything is one hell of an incentive to find another smile!

me23 · 20/02/2008 20:54

I'm so happy that things have worked out well for you and molly I can't even begin to imagine how difficult it was for you with knowing what social services wanted to do.
wishing you and molly all the best.

Kindersurpise · 20/02/2008 20:56

Good to hear that you and Molly are well and that you are enjoying and savouring your lovely daughter.

All the best for you both.

expatinscotland · 20/02/2008 21:01

Yeah, we heard! We folks look out for one another here; that includes you.

It's such a big change for the body, having a baby.

My ring size and shoe size went up a half size for good after DD1. My hips!

Wouldn't trade it for the world.

FranLyon · 20/02/2008 21:11

I dread to think what size my hips are these days expat! But like you say - nothing could make me want to change it.

BabiesEverywhere · 20/02/2008 21:11

I think what surprised me most about becoming a new mother, was the amount of love I felt for my new daughter. How much I felt moved to protect her, love her and hold her. I just want to run upstairs and cuddle her close.

I just hope I feel the same when number 2 arrives, apparantly I will says the Mumsnet search facility.

So glad to hear you and Molly are doing well, Fran.

bossybritches · 20/02/2008 21:15

You do BabiesE ( Hiya Fran)

I remember being SOOO worried that as I loved DD1 SO much I couldn't possibly love DD2 the same. My Mum reassured me said "don't worry your heart stretches"

.............it does honest!!

Piffle · 20/02/2008 21:21

Magic to hear you and Molly are doing great Fran. I've often wondered how you were getting on with motherhood.
Really nice to hear that you love the night feeds. I've got an 11mth old sweet son who I treasure feeding at night. Quiet precious times. Hope you can put the shitty times behind you ;)

FranLyon · 20/02/2008 21:24

BabiesEverywhere - yeah, it took me by surprise too. I just didn't know it was possible to feel like this - or that it was possible for the feeling to intensify each day, yet it does.

I'm sure you will feel the same when DD2 arrives.

moljam · 20/02/2008 21:26

glad you and molly are ok.(i have a molly-lovely pretty name!)

Wotzonked · 20/02/2008 21:26

been following your story on MN, and you won't know me from Adam!
I just want to say how pleased I am to see you here and to see the support you have. Hope you and Molly are well.

Cataline · 20/02/2008 21:27

Really pleased that you and Molly are doing well Fran People often ask about you (I'm from your neck of the woods!!) and are always thrilled to hear that Molly arrived safely and that you're both OK.

FranLyon · 20/02/2008 21:28

Well and truly behind us Piffle! The odd day that it snarks at me, but there isn't any point dwelling and we've plenty to be moving forward with! Those night feeds really are special aren't they? It's like no-one else and nothing else in the world exists.

Piffle · 20/02/2008 21:32

yep just you and the bairn. Delicious!

expatinscotland · 20/02/2008 21:44

I always used to think, during the night feeds, how it was temporary. Somehow that helped me get through. I'd get a tried and trusted DVD on and just think, 'She'll never be so small again.'

And so she wasn't!

The emotional commitment you feel- the worry. I never could have conceived of that before I had DD1.

But despite its ups and downs, I'm glad you got the chance to form that bond with Molly. It is the best of all loves, it truly is.

And never mind your hips, your heart will never be the same!

Aw, good for you, Fran! And for Molly.

We are interested in both of you and here to help no matter what and I wish you both all the best of everything as you move forward.

What an exciting new road to travel.
