Awful. Poor baby boy. His parents were drug addicts, the house was disgusting. How the hell did this baby boy end up being returned to these sick excuses of human beings?!!

I’ve just read this and it’s broken my heart. I’m sobbing. The picture of him led asleep looking so safe and happy.
how could someone be such a monster to a child.
how could he have gone back to them so soon after being taken away.
god my heart aches for this evil act.

What’s even more unbelievable is that it seems like he wasn’t their only child the mum was 19 then - she said when trying to leave her partner he won’t see the kids again. It is absolutely also incredulous that a social worker wasn’t permitted entry then saw the mother buying drugs down the road. The councils reply was they felt the parents were doing a good job as one went out to score the other stayed at home WTF get your heads out of your asses and stop this race to the bottom. The correct answer would be the parents are doing a terrible job no drug use is permissible and we really fucked up and grotesquely let this baby down by returning him to a shit tip where he suffered 170 injuries in 39 days.

Well tbf the blame lies 100% with the complete bastards that caused 57 fractures and 71 burns on that little baby boy. They are the ones that killed him

I'm a children's social worker and I'm sitting here with my 4 month old baby and 1 year I just burst into tears. That poor baby, all that pain.

He was completely failed. I have no words.

I keep thinking of the paramedic who answered the 999 call. That must have been so utterly horrifying. Whoever they are, I hope they are okay. 😢😢

Currently looking at my son who has fallen asleep and thinking about how bad I feel when I accidentally bump his head on something, or cut his fingernail too short. I cannot even begin to imagine what sort of pain Finley was in with the unimaginable amount of injuries he had. I don't understand how someone can do this to a tiny child who could have been taken into care if they didn't want him. I feel really wobbly even listening to this. Poor boy.

I wonder when there will be a crackdown the acceptability of weed.
Will that be when people start to accept that it's not harmless?
The town I live in is choc full of dopehead parents stinking of weed, dragging along a string of kids in filthy clothes, effing and jeffing at the poor mites.
And yes there has been more than one child murdered around this area over the years, mostly involving drugged up parent(s)

I find it hard to express my feelings for these two. I really can't get my head around why any adult wants to repeatedly assault a baby and why the 'mother' just stands by. I'm sorry there really are no words.

I know this is an old thread but ive just learned of this poor baby, a news article flashed up on my phone. Wish I hadn’t seen it. It bought me to tears. That poor sweet boy. I bet his foster parents are so heartbroken. I just can’t understand how anyone could behave that way towards a child.

These are the times when I really struggle with my feelings about the death penalty. Those people murdered him in such a horrific way. It doesn't feel like justice even though the judge has given the maximum sentence.

MN is also full of people who complain about teachers "interfering" or neighbours "judging" and "useless" GPs who don't give you what you want or "accuse" you. If someone comments that maybe there might be a better way to treat your kids they get told "My kids, my rules". Women and men who have kids in terrible circumstances, poor housing, no relationship to speak of, no work, on drugs - and we "offer support" - which usually means more money for drugs. We know this but won't change it.
Everyone thinks they should be allowed to do what the fuck they like - until there's a death like this and then everyone "sobs".

No-one does anything about it - and won't. Heartbreaking.
