Sorry but had to write as feeling so sad for poor little baby Jessica who was murdered by her father. Just heard about it on the news; about how she was failed by doctors/social services etc. She was only 7 weeks old. How can anyone be so evil and how did no one notice??

in general one would would be on prescribed medication, allocated CPN, community team, maybe assertive outreach/enhanced community support. hard to comment i have not read corroborating literature.

the systemic failure appers to be the HC team all not communicating globally. undertaking tasks in isolation and not holistically working

PussinJimmyChoos · 14/02/2008 12:23

I cried loads after seeing this on the news last night then said to DH that I hope the father gets seriously arse f'kd and beaten in prison. Cannot believe my tax money paying to keep him. Hang the bastard with a spot of torturing first - taste of his own medicine imo!

BITCAT · 14/02/2008 12:35

I think hanging too good for him, let us mothers at him!!! Pure evil and these stories make me so angry, how many more children have to die before social services admit that they are useless..i mean they take children off the wrong parents and then parents are wrongly accussed of hurting their children and put in prison whilst those that are hurting and abusing their children are allowed to get on with it!! I do actually feel it's about time social services were charged with neglect or manslaughter..they are supposed to help these children..clearly not doing the job right..so many of these cases of late and enough is enough!!! Sorry about rant, can you tell i'm really angry!!

hifi · 14/02/2008 12:39

just read the time line of events, how could all of this be missed? truly shocking.

bossybritches · 14/02/2008 14:09

BITCAT join us ranters!!!

Puss- tempting but then why should we descend to his level, I truly believe evil men like that get what they deserve ultimately & in prison might be the place.

I get so upset & frustrated by these cases as I reallly DO believe we are NOT learning lessons from them.

When I was a teenager back in the 70's I remember vividly reading about Maria Caldwell, an abuse victim- the headline in the paper was "NEVER AGAIN" & the report was full of "lessons will be learned & changes in procedures made"

"The greatest failure, the Colwell Inquiry's report into Maria Colwell's death stated, was the lack - or ineffectiveness - of communication and liaison between the agencies involved: information was not being passed on and there was no proper co-ordination"

That was in 1975- nothing has changed.

Dear God.
I really don't know what else to say on this - caring for my LO who is ill at the moment and the desperation I feel. That they had a precious life in their care and did this......

kittywise · 14/02/2008 14:23

I think people like him should have "child absuer" tatooed across their face for everyone to see everyday for the rest of his nasty little life. Hopefully someone else will bump him off in prison.

kittywise · 14/02/2008 14:23

abuser even

bossybritches · 14/02/2008 15:15

"nonce" takes up less room & would work in prison kitty.

Jodyray · 14/02/2008 15:25

I am outraged at the horrific treatment of this poor little angel. To think that she was strong enough to fight after being born prem then the monster of a father who she instinctively trusted got his sick hands onto her. I have cried about this as its just shocking. My DP says I always take stories like this from the news to heart and get worked up about it, but i think most mothers do, especially when they look at their own little angels. I must admit I have to agree with my dad on this one and say that prison is too good for this dispicable man.

lucyellensmum · 14/02/2008 15:46

lucyellensmum · 14/02/2008 17:02

Let him rot in HELL dispicable peice of shit. Oh god why dont we have the death sentence anymore?? Worthless fucking coward.

sweetkitty · 14/02/2008 20:23

Can't even comtemplate what kind of person would do this, can you imagine being his poor Mother and knowing you brought that into the world?

I hope a fate worse than he put that poor wee baby through awaits him somewhere.

bossybritches · 15/02/2008 00:25

Hopefully his mother is no longer with us- don't know how I would cope as a mum otherwise

ruty · 15/02/2008 12:11

No on reported him to SS? How can this happen?

edam · 15/02/2008 12:17

I don't think that any of the health professionals who were aware of the mother's diagnosis will necessarily have thought 'ooh, better let children's services know'. So often it just doesn't happen. People work in their silos and adult services forget to think about children, health don't talk to SS - everyone assumes it is someone else's responsibility. Appalling but that lack of communication is not uncommon.

scottishmummy · 15/02/2008 13:10

bossybriches what do you mean "Hopefully his mother is no longer with us"can you clarify

she was not the perpretator of this heinous act.if she was schizophrenic then her insight, judgement, ability to problem solve, ability to respond appropriately would have been impaired

ruty · 15/02/2008 13:13

i meant if the baby had been injured/abused and this was known, why on earth weren;t the SS contacted? don't know the details tho.

VictorianSqualor · 15/02/2008 13:17

scottishmummy, I assume she meant the mother of the abuser, not of Jessica, and meant that at his age many peoples parents are dead, that way the mother wont have to cope knowing her son did that.

scottishmummy · 15/02/2008 13:19

oh i see..thanks

bossybritches · 15/02/2008 13:49

Thanks VS yes that's what I meant !

Scottish I just think that as a mum if your son had done such an evil thing it would be double devastation, death of your grandchild & the knowledge that you gave birth to such a monster.
