Very sad. It really shocks you when someone who you remember so well from watching TV shows in your childhood dies. Felt the same shock when Richard Whitely died.

Very sad for his family. He was the same age as my Dad is.

I just saw that on AOL. It was such a shock. He was so young.

He was part of my Television veiwing as a teenager in the 80's. He has helped raise a phenomenal amount of money for charity, I read somewhere it was around the million mark for children's leukamia.

I have only just heard. He was such a huge part of our saturday nights growing up. Even now if there is a funny twist in events or things seem a bit off the wall we still look for jeremy beadle (as in beadles about)

That should say "hundred million" for children's leukamia

It's very sad, 59 is so young. He did so much charity work. It always a very 'odd' feeling when someone you grew up seeing on tv dies, such a shame.

this really upset me and hit home a bit as I was in hospital in Dec with pneumonia.
