That's awful.

She was so brave to go back.

OMG, why is it when someone comes along that could do some good some fucking nutters kill them.

She was a great woman and very brave and could have made a huge difference.

Well they are all fucked now, and the innocents will suffer for it as always.

Very sad news

FlllightAttendant · 27/12/2007 14:44

Oh God. Not for real?...Oh it is real. Oh no.

Cocobear · 27/12/2007 14:46

My god.

LoveAngelGabriel · 27/12/2007 14:47

Awful.

donnie · 27/12/2007 15:05

I have just heard this on the 3pm bulletin. God help Pakistan - God help the world.

SpareWheel · 27/12/2007 15:08

God almighty - what a waste.

But in a country where lawyers riot and supreme court judges are held under house arrest, anything is possible. I think we need a Marshall Plan for Pakistan to ensure it has a representative and inclusive elected government.

If the country descends into anarchy, what of the nuclear weapons held there?

FlllightAttendant · 27/12/2007 15:12

I was thinking that, but surely they won't want to bomb themselves...

ruty · 27/12/2007 15:14

Terrifying.

several posters on the BBC website have offered the opinion that Musharraf is behind this. I personally do not hold this view - I think it is more likely to be Taleban.

FlllightAttendant · 27/12/2007 15:22

Oh I see...Hmm not good.

RosaLuxMundi · 27/12/2007 15:32

Tragic news. What will happen to Pakistan now? It is terrifying.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 27/12/2007 15:43

Sad news but not unexpected.

MascaraOHara · 27/12/2007 15:47

Oh my god, I only just heard about this. I know it's awful but you almost feel like she was on borrowed time don't you(?).. I wonder what will happen now.

Elasticwoman · 27/12/2007 15:49

Benazir Bhutto was a very brave woman - she carried on after several clear threats to her life and now she has paid the ultimate price. Let's hope she has a successor. I remember demonstations in hyde park when her father was condemned to death. He was still executed, and she later took over where he left off.

meglet · 27/12/2007 17:04

I assume that this doesn't bode well for Imran Khan either. I have no idea what he stands for politcally but he's not afraid of standing up for what he believes in. Wasn't he under house arrest a few weeks ago?

Heathcliffscathy · 27/12/2007 17:10
