Idiot Gets Mauled By Tiger In Front Of Family

This is from the Sun website (i know - shut it) and is VERY graphic colour photo so don't click if you are squeamish about blood.

What i find horrific (apart from putting a limb through a cage and being in front of your family) is the fact that it took 30 mins to get the tigers away.

That's 30 minutes of a tiger chewing on you.

What a horrible way to die.

It's just so unbelieveable that i had to share.

Again - please don't click on link if you don't like blood or distressing stories.

omfg is that for real

EricScrooge · 20/12/2007 23:56

Yes - truth is always stranger than fiction i'm afraid.

He put his arm through to take a pic with his camera.

How stupid can some people be??????

Krimble · 20/12/2007 23:57

Surprised they didn't have tranquilisers, thought that would have been a compulsory requirement for any zoo in any country. If they didn't I can understand it taking so long, I have seen the way the tigers at zoos come bounding out foe their meat, they will fight other huge tigers for meat so why would they care about a keeper prodding them.

AngharadGoldenhand · 20/12/2007 23:59

Poor bloke.

EricScrooge · 20/12/2007 23:59

Even if you dart a tiger there would be abother wanting a feed too behind him.

If you add this to the time taken to attend and the drugs working - 30 mins is a reasonable time to get him free i think.

poor bloke or stupid bloke-think I know where my feelings lie-however,his poor family.

nametaken · 21/12/2007 00:01

that image will probably stay with his wife and child forever - poor things - but what on earth was he thinking?

EricScrooge · 21/12/2007 00:02

I know - i can't imagine anything worse than seeing a loved one going through that right in front of you.

it's odd that he's still standing, with those terrible injuries. He just seems to be in a strange position.

oranges · 21/12/2007 00:07

why on earth have they published the photos of a man dying? There is a code of conduct for NOT doing that. It's awful.

ninedragons · 21/12/2007 05:56

Moron. Can't say I'm terribly sympathetic.

There was one like this in China a few years ago. The zookeepers found him in the morning dead in the enclosure with his pants around his ankles. When tracked down, his friends sheepishly confessed that they'd got drunk, broken into the zoo and he'd decided to do a poo on the tiger and had toppled off the fence.

ELF1981 · 21/12/2007 16:14

I was disgusted to see this on the paper yesterday - there was no need to print that picture.
Poor family

VeVacuaMerryChristmas · 21/12/2007 16:20

are tigers the ones who usually bite straight through the head, while other big cats go for the throat? I wouldn't mind either of those scenarios as a fairly swift and not pointless way to go but would hate to have limbs slowly chewed, yuck

VeVacuaMerryChristmas · 21/12/2007 16:21

just clicked on link and it looks as though the tiger did try to bite the head after all

cornsilk · 21/12/2007 16:23

Was that actually printed on the paper itself! It's horrific.

VeVacuaMerryChristmas · 21/12/2007 16:23

also feel more sorry for the tiger getting told off for something that is not exactly his or her fault

OrmIrian · 21/12/2007 16:24

Oh for pity's sake. That is vile. What purpose did printing the picture serve? Yes he was stupid but he didn't deserve that.

SquonkaClaus · 21/12/2007 16:24

presumably his head wouldn't have fitted through the bars.

I thought that wound on his head was maybe caused by being slammed into the bars.

mumofmonSTARsOfBethlehem · 21/12/2007 16:24

Did they print that picture in the real paper? (as opposed to just online i mean)

Is nothing censored these days?

LittleSleighBellasRinging · 21/12/2007 16:26

Oh that is hideous

I thought they weren't allowed to print photos like that?

VeVacuaMerryChristmas · 21/12/2007 16:26

am sure if this happened to an english person in regents park it wouldn't have been published

mumofmonSTARsOfBethlehem · 21/12/2007 16:27

Do they have tigers in regents park?

(a genuine question, i know the name but am not alondoner)

LittleSleighBellasRinging · 21/12/2007 16:28

LOL, not actually prowling round the park

In the zoo there. Not susre, I do remmeber seeing a puma there years ago

mumofmonSTARsOfBethlehem · 21/12/2007 16:29

ah right so it does have a zoo then. I don't know what regents park is !
