Bing Crosby has suddenly been released today on a technicality what do people think?

OP posts:
Pavlova31 · 30/06/2021 23:38

Bing Crosby .... 🤣🤣

Mowly75 · 30/06/2021 23:42

Only laugh I’ve had today so thank you

Mookie81 · 30/06/2021 23:42

@Jubbies

Oh my aching sides. What an ever so amusing autocorrect mishap.
Tell me about it Hmm. They're so obvious.
peachyandkeen · 01/07/2021 00:06

@Summerdayshaze

I think it’s quite literally a MIRACLE!
Jesus this had me in absolute stitches. I honestly haven't laughed so hard all week (genuinely).

Wish I could upvote this as being one of the funniest things I've read on Mumsnet!!! Even better because there will be people who won't get it.

Thanks for the entertainment and cheering me up:)

I was absolutely gobsmacked at the first few posts seemingly celebrating the release of a prolific sex offender who's been let off on a technicality. I thought MN had entered another dimension.

Then I noticed the typos in the name 😅😅

I also had a chuckle when the news presenter called him "Bill Clinton" earlier.

SheldonesqueDoesNotBelongHere · 01/07/2021 00:19

No celebrations here flamingo

Some mistakes are amusing.

The reality of a technicality/procedural issue is a depressing thump back to reality.

Sorry - the release due to a technicality/procedural issue is a depressing thump back to reality.

@OrrisRoot

The state prosecutor agreed that in exchange for self incriminating testimony in Andrea's civil lawsuit against him he would not face any criminal charges in relation to her.

She received i think about 4 million in the civil case against him.

In his trial she was the only victim not outside the time limit of statute of limitations so they proceeded with that case.

Supreme Court has now had to uphold the original deal that he can't be prosecuted for the crime committed against her so he is free.

His other victims all took too long to ever come forward and so he cannot be charged in relation to them

OrrisRoot · 01/07/2021 00:25

She was the one who was linked to a Uni? Or did I imagine that? It stinks anyway. Really rotten.

Carbonated12 · 01/07/2021 00:25

Oh and the absolute fuckwit of a prosecutor who made that deal you may now know better as the man who defended trump at his impeachment

OMG. Shock

These worlds are so small.

Carbonated12 · 01/07/2021 00:28

Does raise the question now if something needs to be changed as this has exposed the fact that by using a civil case to give payment under an NDA and protecting them from criminal prosecution the American system effectively has a "blood money" route for the rich.

They can testify in a closed civil suit give over the millions and walk away safe knowing they'll never see a jail cell

Thedogscollar · 01/07/2021 00:29

I've had a shitty day but you just cheered me right up OP. Grin
Good old Bing Crosby.

Shmithecat2 · 01/07/2021 00:29

I knew what the comments would like before I opened the thread up. I am not disappointed 😂

SecretKeeper1 · 01/07/2021 00:32

@Hadjab

And this is why we always check our homework before handing it in…
This has given me uncontrollable giggles Grin

I'm holding onto hope that the same names come up time and time again because there's only a small number of such crooked lawyers that everyone has to use the same ones.
Nutrafin · 01/07/2021 00:32

Having a statute of limitations on serious crimes is awful in itself. Such a fucked up country.

Losttheequipment · 01/07/2021 00:34

Will we get another Easter?!

Reminds me of a Japanese case.

Weinstein’s lawyers are gloating already. Anticipating similar.

susisoo · 01/07/2021 01:35

It has been said that even Bing Crosby was not such a lovely man.
