francagoestohollywood · 01/11/2007 15:48

(as an act of madness I mean, sea)

Lulumama · 01/11/2007 15:50

think most poeple are dysfunctional to a certain degree, and being famous, feted and rich gives you more scope to give in and behave oddly....

elesbells · 01/11/2007 15:51

Imelda Marcos - had a few pairs of shoes iirc

BettySpaghetti · 01/11/2007 15:51

Amy Winehouse

Courtney Love

(although various substances rather than fame might account for the madness with those two)

Cammelia · 01/11/2007 15:54

Vivien Leigh

i'm not sure bipolar is going mad because you are famous

tho you might be famous becaus eyou are bipolar and ergo brilliantly clever and out there and creative and imaginative and daring and talented

zippitippitoes · 01/11/2007 16:00

ulrika

Cammelia · 01/11/2007 16:01

Yes may be you have to be mad to want to be famous

zippitippitoes · 01/11/2007 16:03

anyone who ever appeared on big brother..like that sreaming woman

Sheherazadethegoat · 01/11/2007 16:04

i think being famous just accentuates the madness, i am sure if i was famous i would appear slightly odd but not having newspapers following me round reporting on my bizare behaviour means i can keep it relatively quiet.

but i owuld like to add winnona ryder and sinead o'connor (who was definitely bonkers but having an audience just fed it)

Cammelia · 01/11/2007 16:05

Cher

Angelina Jolie

Keeping vials of blood around neck
french kissing brother
Homewrecking

Not normal behavior

Cammelia · 01/11/2007 16:07

Its de rigeur in Hollywood

VeniVidiVickiQV · 01/11/2007 16:07

You have it the wrong way around.

MAD women who become famous. It takes a bit of lunacy to deal with the ridiculous charade that is "celebrity".

Although, I cant say that applies to the lady that played Ivy Tilsley in Coronation Street.

Liza Minelli - She was never ever going to be sane - lets face it.

SHirley Temple

Marilyn Monroe.

Elvis (he had to be a woman)

harpsichordsgoingbangandwoosh · 01/11/2007 16:09

am I allowed to say : Diana

zippitippitoes · 01/11/2007 16:10

isn't Sinead OConnor ordained in the ministry now

zippitippitoes · 01/11/2007 16:10

this has me wondering why im not famous maybe it is just around the corner lol

VeniVidiVickiQV · 01/11/2007 16:11

Again - both of those mad before fame came a knocking.

Sheherazadethegoat · 01/11/2007 16:11

diana is a good one. chances are she would have been a resonably normal sloan for the rest of her life if she hadn't married that nutter the future king of england

Sheherazadethegoat · 01/11/2007 16:11

arse the crossing out thing didn't work

Sheherazadethegoat · 01/11/2007 16:12

i think sinead ordained herself as a catholic prist is is way up there in teh hierarchy of loony gals.
