Is fifteen minutes of fame really worth it?

Just read that Charlie from big brother was attacked outside a nightclub by another girl. What with the current media frenzy over Heather Mills, Britney, kerry catona etc do you think the obsession with celebrity is ever going to end?

I wouldn't stoop to anything but my own show nowadays of course.

Doubletop · 01/11/2007 16:14

The Jeremy Kyle show hasn't been aired yet, the production team have yet to edit it to make it the usual bear baiting condescending load of twaddle it always is.

But honestly, if you had a real family problem (and this family do) would Jeremy Kyle be your first port of call?

ooooohbadmother · 01/11/2007 16:34

I still don't get what they tell the family to get them to come on! Haven't any of them seen previous shows? Madness.

Bessie123 · 01/11/2007 16:39

I imagine there is a v strong probability that Charlie would get attacked whether she had her 15 mins of fame or not - she was vile and hugely aggressive.

artichokes · 01/11/2007 17:26

Unquiet Dad is a pretty good guesser .

ooooohbadmother · 01/11/2007 17:27

YOu won Countdown!!! Congratulations!!

UnquietDad · 01/11/2007 17:29

It's the boy-band girlfriend thuing, isn't it?....
Who was it?
Point Break? 911? Blue?
Or are you even old enough for it to have been......

The vegetabley one isn't telling, is she??

Perhaps it was Yell or Belvedere Kane, and she is just too embarrassed....

kittylouise · 01/11/2007 17:38

Think one example of fame really messing someone up is that Chantelle girl from celebrity BB, who married that chap from a boy band. Looking at photos of her recently, she is stick thin and her eyes look dead. Looks like another victim of celebrity life and bolivian marching powder to me.

artichokes · 01/11/2007 17:38

It was 1996. He was cheesy. That is all I am saying .

SenoraPostrophe · 01/11/2007 17:41

I can't possibly comment as I am already a famous model. can't tell you who obv.

UnquietDad · 01/11/2007 17:46

1996... you realise I am quite good on pop and years, artichoke??
Jas Mann from Babylon Zoo?...
Or Ray from 2Unlimited?...
Or Mark Morrison?...
Surely not.... Peter Andre??

FlameFromBonfire · 01/11/2007 17:46

96 and cheesy?!?! Boy band or solo?

Blandmum · 01/11/2007 17:48

Unquiet Dad I also have kids who aspire to 'be a celebrity'.

Many tell me they are going to be pop stars. When questioned further they don't actually sing, or play an instrument or be in a band.

Someone is just going to 'discover them' a la X factor

But a serious question, who is Charlie from BB, and who is Kerry Cantona?

FlameFromBonfire · 01/11/2007 17:51

Nearly spat my tea at Peter Andre - he is REALLY cheesy

Pleeeeeeeeease let it be him

SenoraPostrophe · 01/11/2007 17:54

hehe at Artichoke's 15 seconds of fame.

perhaps we're all barking up the wrong tree and it was his body odour rather than his music that was cheesy. so it could be anyone.

ooooohbadmother · 01/11/2007 18:45

or .. gulp.. curiosity killed the cat? are you as old as me artichoke?

ooooohbadmother · 01/11/2007 18:46

ohh how disappointing, just saw 1996.
