But he was a Good Chap (used to be my MP). And he has actually done stuff, you know, rather than just being a professional politician.

The Charles Kennedy thing was a joke as well. Everyone knew he drank. Even I did and I'm usually completely clueless. It was just deemed a good idea politically by other party members...

Well, I think he should go for sure, but with a bit of dignity. Unless there is something that hasn't come to light yet, another brutal shafting of a leader does not look good for the party IMO.

he's also a rather right wing liberal as far as I can tell. have only seen him slagging off the other parties rather than actually saying anything. even the conservatives occasionally come up with some ideas, even if they do go back on them the day after.

Who should be next? Simon Hughes was very nice when my son headbutted him in the bollocks in the process of zooming along a train carriage aged 2. But he was v bad to Peter Tatchell, I think.

The dishonesty and hypocrisy of his campaign at the time he was standing against Peter Tatchell really does make me distrust him - even if it was orchestrated by Party workers and not him personally - he let it happen. I know he's a good constituency MP, but then lots of LDs are.
Personally I still miss Jenny Tonge, a lot. And I did like Charles Kennedy even if he was a soak.
Oh, I know...let's have Lembit Opik. Then some day we might have a Cheeky Girl as First Lady
