Oh no
How desperate must a parent be to do this?

Poor little pumpkin.

What a strange story though, what reasons could the parents have had? And where is mum??

ruty · 18/09/2007 13:28

Poor thing.. Hope they find her mum

Hulababy · 18/09/2007 13:31

Poor little girl

Hope her mummy is ok.

Piffle · 18/09/2007 13:32

Sounds like the father has had something to do with the mother being missing.
thank god he abandoned the little girl and did not harm her
Cruel but at the same time probably in her best interests- although where he left her anyting could have bloody happened.

Wolfgirl · 18/09/2007 13:34

oh Lord, thats bought a lump to my throat, poor little lamb. and the picture of her father walking - holding her little hand - knowing that he is going to just dump her. [angy] pig of a man. Grrrrrrrrrrrr....!!!

HorribleHorace · 18/09/2007 13:35

the father's obviously done away with the mother and then dumped the child before running. At least he didn't harm the child physically, I suppose. But how damaging to remove a child from her mother (who knows what she witnessed) and then take her somewhere completely alien to her and just walk away?

Heartless. I hope they find him

ruty · 18/09/2007 13:37

well that's the suggestion but there is no actual evidence yet. [generally required to cast guilt]

edam · 18/09/2007 13:37

Oh, that is very sad. Poor little girl.

Piffle · 18/09/2007 13:38

ruty it's whats coming from NZ I'm afraid
Massive history of violence and domestic abuse.
So fair to at least bandy the theory around

HorribleHorace · 18/09/2007 13:39

it's pretty obvious imo

ruty · 18/09/2007 13:39

i don't know Piffle but just in light of other recent threads...

VeniVidiVickiQV · 18/09/2007 13:41

Oh poor little thing

She must have been distraught.

ShinyHappySchmooo · 18/09/2007 13:43

I wonder if this is because she is a girl.

I doubt she is as "ok" as the report says she is despite eating and sleeping. In my course it says (re "attachment theory") that when a child is separated from his/her mother (or caregiver to whom she has formed an attachement), then hysterical grief eventually gives way to a type of numb acceptance that mum is absen but from which the child/adult never fuller recovers.

bozza · 18/09/2007 13:45

And dressed in pumpkin patch by the sound of it. Agree that it is very sad....

edam · 18/09/2007 13:47

IKWYM Ruty but I think the circumstances are different. According to the news story (which doesn't sound hysterical) there's a history of domestic violence AND CCTV footage of the father abandoning the poor kid. Seems unlikely there will be a happy outcome.

ruty · 18/09/2007 13:48

not disputing that edam. just some posters grating on me a bit, sorry.

Blu · 18/09/2007 13:50

Very sad story.

Sorry - I know I will regret this, but I cannot help but comment on your presence on this thread, Horrible Horace - do you know, 105 of your total 132 posts on Mn have been about your wisdom concerning MM! And now this poor child! Are you a thwarted detective? Should you have your own TV series do you think?

HorribleHorace · 18/09/2007 13:53

I find it a bit odd that you took the time to search my posts, Blu but errm, anyway.... As far as I know I have not been offensive to anyone.

I only really use the news section, as I can't find too much else to interest me tbh

ruty · 18/09/2007 13:54

it isn't very hard to notice what you are interested in HH.

HorribleHorace · 18/09/2007 13:56

errm, ok... and that bothers you why?

ruty · 18/09/2007 13:59

i could say so much....[pointless exercise though]

Blu · 18/09/2007 14:01

Because we are welcoming and freindly at MN and notice when people jpin in a wide ranging number of threads. You only particpate in the MM threads in 'news' and are prolific...I knew you would turn up here - you are obsessed, woman! I'm not having a go, honestly...and you haven't offended me, I'm just saying!

Searched your posts because I was justifying my hunch that I knew you would be here!

AbRoller · 18/09/2007 14:04

The poor little girl. Hope her Mam is ok.
