I used to be a nork clasper when the threads were devoid of real developments, but today I've had to move because I find the nork clasping camp (keepbumping and friends) is the loonier of the two now.

The police have not saidit it is a murder inquiry (its only a suspicion) so until they do, it is not a murder inquiry.

This seems to be such a complex case and, oddly enough, even if they are guilty, as the portugese police are reportedly suggesting, of accidently killing their own child, then yes...I imagine they are grief-stricken. In the same way that the sister convicted of the manslaughter of her own sister is grief stricken. I don't think the McCanns could manufacture the emotion they have obviously been feeling over the last few months. The source of that emotion would now appear to be in question.

When the police try to get a suspect to confess to an "accidental" killing, they're really just trying to get them to confess to the killing any which way. I thought everyone knew that.
