aloha - i didnt know that about your dad. my condolences to you.

southeastastra · 20/08/2007 19:01

he doesn't pay for cabs either and runs away

niceglasses · 20/08/2007 19:03

Sordid aint it?

I can sort of spell, sometimes.

Tranquila · 20/08/2007 19:03

i dont read the papers. any of them.
i have however come across a fair few losers in my time and he strikes me as one.

which doesnt bother me in the least so long as e keeps himself to himself... but like some others have said, driving about and endangering other peoples lives is, um, more than a bit off really.

wouldnt you agree?

Tranquila · 20/08/2007 19:06

and ona slight tangent - equally as odd as the phenomenon of celbrities being piloried and scapegoated in the press and becoming hate figures... is, for me, this bizarre assumption by people that they know anything at all about celebrities other than that which their agents etc put forward.

i dont hate any of them. but i dont like any of them either. because, on the whole, i havent met any of them.

niceglasses · 20/08/2007 19:06

Yes, but there are thousands of losers and drug addicts and maybe he would keep himself to himself if he was allowed and he wasn't a rock star.

Hes a bit of arse its got to be said, but there are many of them about and they don't get the'yre every fart reported in the paper.

Tranquila · 20/08/2007 19:11

whats how many of them there are got to do with it?
there are hundreds of burglars too, should we just forget about them?
odd.

'himself to himself' comment was regarding endangering other people. fair play to him being a rock star an all, whatever. i just dont think he should be driving. tbh.

niceglasses · 20/08/2007 19:13

Well I suppose I was thinking in context of him being singled out. I don't know why I'm defending him - you'd have to be mad to defend driving whilst drunk or with drugs.

The whole crux of the matter for me is a) the current accusation is unproven b) the press whip it up and love a hate figure.

Tranquila · 20/08/2007 20:37

ok, fair point.

for me tho, tis not press mania... as i dont have time to read the papers, nor inclination to in the wee bit of time i may snatch here and there. especially if its full of this sort of crap!!

whiskeyandbeer · 20/08/2007 21:38

i don't even particularly like the guy in the slightest as i don't know him.i met him once or twice and he was so off his tits he could barely speak so i hardly found myself enchanted by him.but then again people are hardly the most likeable when smacked up to their eyeballs.his only redeeming feature is two quality libertines albums.
and no i don't fancy him, for one thing i'm not gay but thats hardly here or there.
and as i've said i'm not defending him as a person i am talking about this trial by media tabloid crap where people openly jump to the assumption that someone is guilty of something, in this case a crime he has not even been accused of, on the basis of what they read in heat.

Peachy · 20/08/2007 21:47

It was in the news he was arrested

i thought- thats not news, thats a daily reality, much like the sun rising

Which kinda sums up the waster, sadly

PeachesMcLean · 20/08/2007 22:08

Good of you to jump to the conclusion that we must all read Heat and the tabloids

expatinscotland · 20/08/2007 22:14

'Poor sod. His life is a train wreck because of a drug addiction that he obviously can't kick. How can you feel so little pity for someone who is so likely to be dead by the time he is 30?

Walk a mile in his shoes I say'

Are you for real??!!

Hey, let him dope himself all he wants.

But he's driving whilst intoxicated on drugs.

He could kill or seriously injure someone because of his selfishness.

And we're supposed to feel pity for this waste of space?

Hulababy · 20/08/2007 22:26

He's had too many chances. He needs an imprisonment sentence to prove to him that he is not above the law AND whilst there he needs a compulsary addiction intervention programme, one which continues on release also.

People DO go to prison for these things. At the moment it does seem that he is above the law.

expatinscotland · 20/08/2007 22:27

AND before the next time he does this, he kills or seriously injures someone, maybe even you or me. Or someone we love.

Quincywincy · 20/08/2007 22:31

So sorry to hear that Aloha. Same thing happened to dh's best friend. It's so devastating and the driver got let off with a fine

Tranquila · 20/08/2007 23:43

dont 'read' heat either.

donnie · 21/08/2007 15:41

he is a real wanker and so very arrogant. I hope he gets a prison sentence. Too many chances.

donnie · 21/08/2007 18:35

well I have just read on yahoo news that he has been let off because of some 24 hour rule technicality. So that's good then.

Hulababy · 22/08/2007 08:00

How convenient.

whiskeyandbeer · 22/08/2007 10:15

so there we have it. he isn't even being charged and in the eyes of the law has committed no crime.

thegirlwithnoname · 22/08/2007 14:03

Teflon Pete, strikes again.
