Liz Jones' diary

I'm sure you've discussed Liz Jones' diary here before but, I was wondering if anyone knew whether she has stopped writing it or not?

Does it still appear in the Mail on Sunday every week?

(I could never make up my mind whether I wanted to give her a big hug or a good slap).

Thanks

Laura

Definitely a slap from me.

UnquietDad · 08/08/2007 11:42

God, I hope she has. It's time for her to put the rest of us out of her misery.

Any advance on two slaps?

ImBarryScott · 08/08/2007 11:43

that (ex?) husband of hers is worse though.....

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/08/2007 11:44

is she the woman who wrote about her marriage to a younger man and now they're separated ? I think she wrote a very depressing piece in either the Guardian or Observer mag in the What I see when I look in the mirror - she said she wouldn't be naked in front of husband and was very critical about her looks....

UnquietDad · 08/08/2007 11:44

Yes, Nirpal - hideous twat of a "man".

myalias · 08/08/2007 11:45

Yes it's on the back page of the You magazine. I would be inclined to slap her! I mean who would put up with that punk.

TinyGang · 08/08/2007 11:45

Deffo the slap.

Last time I read it - because it's car crashingly compulsive - she'd split up with the hubby and bought a horse and a new house but was still seeing him cos she felt sorry for him.

Latest column here.

Carmenere · 08/08/2007 11:45

Yes they did deserve each other, in fact I hope they get back together.

I can't read it - I lose the will to live after a paragraph.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 08/08/2007 11:51

Feel desperately sorry for her. I would elect to slap not her but whatever editor decided to give her a column to write her drivel, thus 1. encouraging her to keep making bad life decisions to ensure she has something to write about 2. normalising her vacuuous trivial petty obsessions with self and appearance so that they are assumed to be normal, indeed typical, of women. And 3. boring us rigid, but that's easily avoided by just not reading it.

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/08/2007 11:53

what are her issues with self and appearance - sorry, have never read her articles, only a short thing about her

Oh no, it's still going. I'll have to start reading it again. Can't help it.

That girl's got issues!

How about mumsnet asks her to do one of their "online chats"?

He wrote a column in Grazia about how awful it was to be written about week on week and slagging her off for lying constantly. He stopped it as he thought they were getting back together. It was full of self pity - he's a vile man, but she just seems to bring it on herself. I'm sure she thinks she's being honest but how can she humiliate herself like that?

Carmenere · 08/08/2007 16:55

000Laura000 I don't think that some one who refers to her cats as 'her hairy babies' would be a particularly good candidate for an online live chat on mumsnet, do you?

You don't happen to be Liz Jones do you? or perhaps her agent?

mosschops30 · 08/08/2007 17:01

Its the only reason I buy the mail on a sunday the rest of it goes in the bin.

My life always seems wonderful after reading her sad, deluded column.

000Laura000 · 08/08/2007 17:05

Carmenere - I know. It would be like people being thrown into the lion's den!

Aitch · 08/08/2007 17:34

carmenere, same thought sprung to my mind.

get away with you, you silly woman.
