15 charges - I am sure he looked at lots more, given that he was paying to join sites.

Maybe when it comes to sentencing there will be others to taken into consideration. Why waste publci money by pleading not guilty then admitting the offences

Eddas · 02/08/2007 17:19

He lives in the town I work in, not nice to know he's there

will it be a prison sentence?

(I think 'making' is quite a wide term and can include downloading)

noddyholder · 02/08/2007 17:22

I feel for his kids as they so strongly supported him

WendyWeber · 02/08/2007 17:27

cod, would you have expected him to get bail? Is he being protected from others (or from himself)?

jimmyjamas · 02/08/2007 17:42

how long did he get for it?

i bet he will serve 1 - 2 years and be out doing it again.

WendyWeber · 02/08/2007 17:54

ie "you'd better get used to prison", I suppose.

He hasn't been sentenced yet, jj - that'll be done mid-Sept.

liath · 02/08/2007 17:57

What really annoyed me was the way he plead not guilty and tried to weasel his way out of it, plus trying to get sympathy by claining to have been abused himself. Could he not even be man enough to admit what he had done?

He says he waited until she was 18 to shag her (because he was behaving 'honorably' despite being married )
But I thought her evidence sounded compelling, esp about his showing her a clip of child porn of a naked child in the shower, which they actually found in his house. But the judge ordered the jury to find him not guilty on that charge - not sure why.

Mercy · 02/08/2007 18:04

edam or anyone else - why would the judge have directed the jury to clear him of the rape charges? What does that mean?

Pan · 02/08/2007 18:08

poss. not enough evidence, mercy..some charges are brought almost as a 'fishing trip' and then the severity of the charge is reduced to secure a conviction for something.

I wonder if there will be more girls waiting to come forward now he has the convictions re child porn. It wouldn't surprise me.

Mercy · 02/08/2007 18:13

Yes, I see what you mean.

Law (or interpretation of it, I suppose) is very complicated isn't it? There was a very interesting and informative thread a few weeks ago.
