There are other ways the 'story' could have got out. An abandoned Porsche is quite unusual after all, I expect the owner would have been traced. Maybe someone thought there would be a few quid in it for them if they called the press who would naturally go digging to find out why Hammond would abandon his car. He had no reason to lie about it did he, if asked?

I'm with anorak, I wouldn't want to be married to Richard Hammond, no way.

mumof2monsters · 25/07/2007 18:00

I think richard hammond is lovely and cute and I would let him rev my engine anytime lol!!!

LittleBellatrixLeBoot · 25/07/2007 18:04

Well I'd like to know what he was doing 16 miles away in a porsche anyway.

Shouldn't he have been helping set the party up?

Agree it's not news, it's PR

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 25/07/2007 19:16

Ah yes, Top Gear special on tonight.

tissy · 25/07/2007 19:24

agree with anorak

VoluptuaGoodshag · 26/07/2007 21:07

I had a very strange and erotic dream about him last week. Had never given him much thought before and no idea why he crept into my darkest sub-conscious

Spidermama · 26/07/2007 21:09

I'm with anorak. He should've been home helping. What's a dad doing prancing around in a bloody Porche anyway. Fool!

CaptainCaveman · 26/07/2007 21:14

lmao re. "did he turn the water into wine" Now that would be a news story!!

Maybe he parted the flood waters for the Good People of Gloucs to get home.

Emprexia · 30/07/2007 22:41

Uh, he was probably working, and if you actualy READ the story, he was coming home the day before it normally only takes a couple of hours from London to Herefordshire, so he'd have been home about 6pm the day before her birthday - but after 12 hours of traffic jams got sick of sitting in his car and walked/ran the rest of the way home.

Having a father who worked away from home, i'd have been ecstatic if my dad had done something like that in time to be home on my birthday.

Bah humbug to the lot of you having a go at him.
