i cant understand why there are no night watchmen there

saltire · 04/07/2007 13:01

Obviously I meant the expression "weans" I didn't mean yours.
He can be your pretend hubby, you can have him on Fridays and Sunday because I have Gerry Butler on those nights, he pops round and sings to me!.
Thought you were a weegie, it's the only part of the country where I hear the expression weans. My mate from Motherwell uses it all the time

I used to live in Dundee when I was childless. Nobody uses the word weans up there - it's bairns!! Just like in the Broons!
I am really sick about this story. It just seems that every other day, there's a story that turns your stomach.

The world has gone MAD I tell you!

nailpolish · 04/07/2007 13:06

Fimbo · 04/07/2007 13:14

Dundee is my home town.

I hate it when I go back there.

Camperdown was our annual trip with the school every year.

Was the bear called Jeremy?

nailpolish · 04/07/2007 13:15

omg i left school in 1991

was the pond still there when you were? i used to meet dh there every lunchtime...

they are renovating it just now - about time too

nailpolish · 04/07/2007 13:15

fimbo i cant remember his name

saltire · 04/07/2007 13:16

Fimbo, they are "regenrating and rejuvinating" the place.
It'll take more than that to improve it - amybe they should knock the whole place doon and start again

nailpolish · 04/07/2007 13:18

its says here the bears are called Comet and Star

SquareSausage · 04/07/2007 13:18

Well you would know my friend who was a pupil there (left in 1990) and her father teaches history there.
I taught alongside the infamous Mr Joss who is actually very very funny!
Haven't been back in a while but I know they are getting a new building.
It's a lovely school, though I must admit I don't miss living in Dundee!

nailpolish · 04/07/2007 13:19

now now ladies - Dundee is a lot better than it used to be

i has just got a branch of Office!

SquareSausage · 04/07/2007 13:20

nailpolish · 04/07/2007 13:20

does your friend have red hair and a brother called Fergus???

i quite liked Mr Joss. He seemed frustrated tho that no-one seemed interested in music

nailpolish · 04/07/2007 13:21

i worked in Ninewells for a while - working with Dundonians was an eye-opener i tell ye

Fimbo · 04/07/2007 13:21

Saltire I think you summed it up perfectly "It's full of Neds".

What about the Hilltoon Huns do they still exist?

My parents are selling up and moving down to England to be near me! Yay! Babysitters and no more having to go to Dundee, although my pil live in Wormit.
