I have joined this site solely to remind all you thoughtless, forgetful, selfish ba#@ards that Madeleine McCann is missing!!!!!!!! I cannot understand how anyone can sit with their arms around their own children, in the comfort of a cinema whilst feeding their children popcorn and Coke that there are lots of mothers in this world who cannot do this. Their children have been taken from them and I wonder if any of you had the money or the resources available to them, I wonder if you would have campaigned this long or this hard for their daughters return. I wish the McCanns every success and only wish I could physically find their daughter for them. I am taking my 6 kids to see Shrek tomorrow and I hope my cinema is still showing the Madeleine film. I hope the publicity generated stays in your faces for a long time to come. Tell me, if she passed in front of you down at the shops or at the park could any of you be bothered to actually tell someone. Or are you all just to happy in the knowledge that its not one of your children. There but for the grace of God............

Thankyou bidzy01!!!!

So true!
Doing a workbook while you have your eyes on a computer screen!? Amazing! Im sure they have your total attention!

biddzy01 · 04/07/2007 15:26

Su Baroo. Your doing a very good job at teaching them just let them get on with it while you attack people on here who have different views to you.

haychee · 04/07/2007 15:29

My best friend was also abused as a child. Her children are more aware of potential dangers and of the madeleine case than mine are! So just because you were abused as a child does not make your opinion right or the same as another who has also recieved the same abuse as you!
It is all dependant on the individual child, their age their level of emotional stability and how they percieve danger.
I still feel that kids will find out something at some point regardless of what you think they should know especially when they are mixing with other kids at school age.

SueBaroo · 04/07/2007 15:29

haychee, do you think I stare at the computer screen constantly while I'm using it? Do you? How very odd.

Anyway, vastly OT. I don't actually have to give you a run-down of the day-to-day workings of my home. You disagree with our choices to shield our children as much as possible from the gory details of the seamy side of life. I get that.

I don't agree with your way of doing things. Is there anything more to add?

SueBaroo · 04/07/2007 15:31

biddzy, dear, who's attacking? I'm disagreeing.

biddzy01 · 04/07/2007 15:32

Haychee, You must remember SueBaroo teaches her kids at home so they don't mix with other school age kids they lead very sheltered lives. Probably grow up to have a nervous dispusition when they meet other people

haychee · 04/07/2007 15:33

i agree to disagree suebaroo.
I think we have the potential here to learn from eachother rather than to pointlessley attack eachother - far more adult option i feel!
Im interested as to why you have chosen to homeschool and how long you think youll be able to keep it up. I also would like to know if you ever doubt your choice.
I have learnt on here alot since yesterday but im not sure that you have, have you?

But its okay for all you little clang to insult is it?

Well I'm sorry but the world doesn't work like that.

lemonaid · 04/07/2007 15:38

Sum total of SueBaroo's posts on this thread:

  1. By SueBaroo on Tue 03-Jul-07 16:05:38 6 kids at the cinema, blimey.

How dare the op spend all that money on her children when she could have donated it to help find Madeleine McCann??!! I am disgusted that she would consider her own children before Madeleine!!!!

/sarcasm

[OK, a little snarky, but I think the tone of the OP justified it]

  1. By SueBaroo on Tue 03-Jul-07 19:25:10 Waits for NKF's suggestion to explode when trolls read it

[also a little snarky, but not attacking anyone]

  1. By SueBaroo on Wed 04-Jul-07 14:43:52 It's been restricted to older age-group films, and quite right too.

[Not exactly a contentious position -- even haychee says she can see that other people's small children could be upset by the wording. And not an attack]

  1. By SueBaroo on Wed 04-Jul-07 15:19:56 it's parents wot are like me that Haychee objects to

[Also not an attack. And haychee agreed.]

  1. By SueBaroo on Wed 04-Jul-07 15:23:03 Actually they're sitting at the table doing their workbook, and the littlest ones are having their nap.

[Nope, not an attack]

It is remarkable, you know, this uncanny ability to do more than one thing at a time...

  1. By SueBaroo on Wed 04-Jul-07 15:31:59 biddzy, dear, who's attacking? I'm disagreeing.

[Nope, not an attack]

So not really sure where biddzy01's comment about Sue "attacking" comes from... Or, indeed, while a child doing a workbook should be stood over with their parent's eyes glued to every stroke of the pencil (would be distinctly offputting, I'd have thought). Or why Sue is supposedly "attacking" whereas recent comments about her are... what, exactly? I know which seem more personal and hostile to me.

biddzy01 · 04/07/2007 15:39

Some people on here just need to grow up and get there heads out of the clouds Shit Happens!!!

haychee · 04/07/2007 15:40

Totally agree with bidzy
i came here yesterday to lodge my opinion and have a discussion but iwas attacked but alot of angry people who dont want to listen to a different opinion. I was shocked, upset and suprised at the childish reaction i recieved by some of the people here.
One rule for one and one rule for another

expatinscotland · 04/07/2007 15:41

Doncha just love newbies?

biddzy01 · 04/07/2007 15:43

A question for those parents who want their children to believe there is nothing to fear in the world;
You go to London on a day trip and travel on the tubes, what do you tell your kids? stay close to mummy cos of what reason?

Hmm. Leati (you remember, "YAY!... Go for it LEATI!") also came on here yesterday to lodge her opinion and have a discussion. She was unfailingly polite, argued her position eloquently, intelligently and level-headedly, didn't engage in abuse of any kind, listened to what was being said to her and responded thoughtfully.

A civilised and well-mannered (apart from one "blah blah blah" which I agree was inappropriate) debate ensued, at the end of which everyone agreed that it would have been more appropriate to have shown the ad with slightly different wording.

I wonder why your experience hasn't been the same?

haychee · 04/07/2007 15:48

LITTLELAPIN
for gods sake dont make a spelling error here youll be slaughtered!
Never mind the message you were trying to make - that doesnt matter, you are obviously seriously derranged if you cant type apparently

lemonaid · 04/07/2007 15:49

It's not actually difficult or time-consuming for the IT-literate, biddzy. But I'm happy you're glad.

No thats right i dont want to be part of this community i just want to air my view, and hopefully make some people here realise that they cant hide all this stuff from their kids especially when they are at school age and mixing with other kids.

Beetroot · 04/07/2007 15:53

do you think they have gone yet?
