Can't wait till I can go out for a drink and not find myself choking on the disgusting stench of smoke. I have a right to enjoy my drink in pleasant, smoke free air IMO.

ktmoomoo · 26/06/2007 13:30

[thinks the smokers hiding]

expatinscotland · 26/06/2007 13:31

I do all my drinking at home or friends' homes so I couldn't care less one way or another.

Macdog · 26/06/2007 13:32

We had the smoking ban introduced in Wales earlier this year and since then on average 16 pubs/licensed premises have gone out of business each week!

I agree it is nice to go out and not choke on smoke BUT if it carries on there won't be anywhere to go! We have lost three of our area's nicest pubs- one of which was a family thing with play facilities outside and stuff!

harleyd · 26/06/2007 13:34

i smoke and i am all for it. its been here since april and isnt causing too many problems, in fact its great craic in the beer gardens.

bobsmum · 26/06/2007 13:37

I'm for it.

But there was a news report in Scotland last week which was suggesting that smokers were smoking more at home and therefore more cigarettes because they knew they wouldn't while they were out. So in their minds they were "making up for " the ones they would miss out on.

Not sure whether it'll actually stop anyone taking up sm,oking. The latest thing in all the pubs and clubs is 'smirting" - going outside to flirt and smoke. It's a select group who go out and seems popular.

harleyd · 26/06/2007 13:40

also, i dont really mind because i havent smoked in my house since i had the kids. i have been going into the back garden for the last 8 years to smoke anyway

CaptainUnderpants · 26/06/2007 13:40

FOR.

Also anything that will encourage DH to give up smoking is good news.

PenelopePitstops · 26/06/2007 13:42
