as far as i know lionheart lots of people were videoing it on phones. i'm quite shocked someone has put it on youtube though. it's so hideous.

I won't look at the video but the image it conjures of lots of people holding their phones up to get this on film is frightful.

WelshBoris · 24/05/2007 16:47

It was linked on popbitchs mail out this week.

I haven't watched the video but I listened to the voice over at the begining. According to CNN there were lots of men there who could have stopped it but they videoed it instead.

JoolsToo · 24/05/2007 16:49

at subaroo's link

lionheart · 24/05/2007 16:50

It sounds then as if they had no shame.

southeastastra · 24/05/2007 16:50

i've seen the stills that's enough really. she has a whole website dedicated to her which is hearbreaking to view, and grazia printed some images. once you see them you can't forget.

half the world is crazy and insane.

i cant stop thinking about this horrific event, and i know it happens quite a lot, as well as all the public hangings of women and children (yes, kids)in Iran and Iraq.
Feel so helpless but have signed the petition.
Dont know what to do to help stop it all!!

i really cant believe people were standing there watching it all and filming it on their mobiles!!
Let alone show the bloody film of that poor girl on youtube. F**king sick. Those men make my blood boil and i hope they rot in hell when they die.

lionheart · 24/05/2007 20:28

There seems to be a lot of agitation about this.

allgonebellyup · 24/05/2007 20:30

Yes, funny that. We dont usually enjoy hearing about innocent girls being stoned to death for a public viewing.

southeastastra · 24/05/2007 20:41

what do you mean lionheart? it does make me feel pretty useless in the scheme of things

SEA--I have been following up some of the links and her case has been taken up by human rights activists and those who campaign to raise awareness of violence against women.

I know what you mean about the feeling it leaves behind--that impotent kind of rage is awful and I'm not sure that it lessens because a petition is signed or letter written or email sent.
